Soon after the fifteen weeks of sentinel training on Orion 8 had ended , Dexter had returned to earth, but unfortunately, without Mia. There was still far too much training she'd have to endure, especially for the likes of crazed Meta's that plagued Millennium city. Not that he was concerned about them harming her, but of what her own capabilities were. And , although he'd sat through most of Mia's training on Orion 8, he knew all to well what she could do. His conclusion? Damn near invincible, although it did concerned him a little , but not to any certain degree. Back at his condo, Dexter stood in his bathroom mirror looking at himself. I never asked for this. He thought to himself, as he glared at the eerie pale yellowish green hourglass shaped crystal resting on the left side of his chest just under-skin. He wanted to help people, but not as an inner galactic peace officer . His Psychiatric practice was just picking up when it all began. And, even though his alien mentor Xil Ha had impregnated him with the Quantum badge, a small part of him wanted to be back to his normal self. He began to recall his first encounter with Seth Vaal, the leader of the galactic hoard, and his two comrades. Disguising themselves as humans to blend in, but their massive sizes dispelled any efforts of actually being believable. They used a type if cosmically enhanced tracing device to follow the cosmic signature of the Quantum badge. It lead them directly to Millennium City. He remembered how he began running for his life once they'd found him. He headed down an alley just blocks from his office, all the while, the Quantum badge seemingly giving off a pulsating burning sensation in his chest . He wanted to rip the thing out but couldn't. However, unknowingly covering the device with his right hand, the power of the cosmic Quantum had completely taken over the entire circumstance. A flash of light blue and purple cosmic energy had filled the entire alley, as Dexter had become the Sentinel of earth for the second time . "Seth Vaal, You are in direct violation of the inner galactic peace treaty of Orion 8, stand down ! " He couldn't believe his own ears. His voice echoed like he had a stereo amplifier or some sort. But, by the end of their uncanny battle, he had defeated all three unwanted messengers from the stars. However, it was at that same time that Millennium City's surviving son, and champion, Captain Pinnacle was being accused of Sexual harassment . He couldn't have imagine such a thing, especially after all of Pinnacles hard work of keeping order in Millennium City . After taking a hot shower, he put on lounging pants , grabbed a cool drink from the fridge, and did something he very rarely did, sit back, relax, and watch the evening news. He really wanted to talk to Mia, but knew that was an impossibility, that is, of course, unless he decided to return to Orion 8, but he wanted her to be able to stand on her own, which she was more than able of doing . His thoughts of being with his lover were interrupted by a news report about the strange six-story large crystal which seems to be growing in Century Park. The reporter, Ted Hemingway, who was more than obviously fascinated by the strange crystal, was reporting about how citizens of Millennium city were coming downtown to see the great crystals for themselves. The only problem, anyone looking upon the great objects seem to become mesmerized by their awesomeness. Dexter then switched to the world news, and all over the planet, sightings of the great crystals continued to pour in, and each report rendering the same outcome of the encounter. The crystals were hypnotizing everyone who stood within a foot of their proximity. Dexter's first thought was to handle the circumstance alone their in Millennium City but decided not too, but opt-in the stead to head over to Omnicorp towers Where they would know more than he did he thought to himself. He stood up from his lounging chair, and placed his right hand over the Quantum symbol, and in a quick flash of light blue and purple cosmic energy, he had become the Sentinel once more. Dexter hardly transformed in his unit , except for the one time he had shown Mia. He could just zoom out from the balcony, but it would raise far too many questions. So, he opt to take the service elevator to the roof . The only problem? The service elevator was on the other side of the building on his floor. This meant that he would have to make a "b"line straight there, and no matter what he heard behind him , he knew to keep going. Even though it was late , he knew the other tenants pretty much kept to themselves, Dexter just had the gut feeling that someone was going to see him coming out of his unit in his Sentinel guise . However there was no time to transform back and look even more peculiar taking the service elevator up instead of down. "You are over thinking this Dexter , just go ." Ignoring all the variables, Dexter left his unit , and briskly made his way to the other side of his units hall floor. For a split second he glanced at a flyer reminding him about an associations meeting which would be coming up in a few weeks . "Ignore it Dexter. " He said under breath pushing the up button to the service elevator .
Daniel was in his cell reading a James Patterson novel when one of the prisoners interrupted him to tell him what was happening on the outside. "Hey big dude, did you hear ?!" The city's got a problem with some giant diamond growing in Century park !" Daniel, seemingly uncaring just looked over the top of his book. "I'm reading ." He said calmly and returned to it. "Might be a way out of here for you, if the locals can't deal with it. " The prisoner said as he continued on heading to the break room. Daniel had to admit that it did peak his interest some. He got up from his bunk, placed his marker in his book, left his cell, and began making his way towards the break room himself. By the time he got their all eyes were glued to the flat screen hanging from the wall. Once he stepped in everyone could feel his presence and immediately began parting, clearing a way for him to get a better look. A part of him wanted to just fly out of the prison and just smash the monolithic crystal, but he remembered the promise he once made to his good friend Dr. Drake. So, at this point, all he could do was continue to watch on like the rest of the prisoners were. But make no mistake, he most definitely wanted to take to the air . Jones and the few remaining ALPHA FORCE members had already boarded their teams Quinn jet and were about to take off when Dexter had arrived. On board were Kiyanna, Gideon, Sphere, Dr. Magi, Yeti Bob, Velocitor, and Delta wolf. "Hey, where's Trickshot? " Gideon chimed in. "Said he had some business to take of," Jones replied. What about the Doc, is he coming? But just as soon as he was asking, Jones had already opened the bay door to let Dexter in. "Wow, just made it huh ." "Anyone have any info on these things ?" Well one thing for sure, they aren't from earth. Yeti-Bob replied. "Where could they have come from ?" " No one seems to know anything as of yet, But we are going to find out. "'Jones replied. Moments later the Quin jet was landing not too far from where the great crowds were gathered.
