Falling in love is the easy part, it's finding the right love that makes love such a difficult thing.
Thank goodness for soulmate signs. Two signs.
Yellow strings are strong positive relationships, platonic or romantic. By strong, we mean strong. A close relationship with your mother, best friend, etc. It's specific. They're on your right pointer finger. That narrows down your search.
A red string appears on your left ring finger once you and your soulmate have fully fallen for each other.
Seems messy, but it's manageable.
Patches has three yellow strings.
Cherry has six yellow strings.
Tom has four yellow strings.
Good for them! Right? Am I right?

Cherry ran up to Patches, hugging her friend tightly. Their yellow string shrunk due to the close quarters. Patches leaned away a bit, tugging Cherry's finger for a second.
"Patches!" Cherry cheered, skipping next to her friend.
"Cherry." Patches smiled.
"We're meeting Tom at the cafe, right?" She nudged her friend playfully.
"Mhm, that's correct." The taller girl nodded, her head held high.
"Yay!" Cherry danced circles around her as they walked, the bright string brightening Patches' face.
They saw the lanky boy in the distance, their strings linking them together. His hair reflected in the sun, making him awfully hard to miss.
He waved at them, scrunching his nose to lift his glasses. Patches waved back as Cherry rushed towards him.
"Tom!" She exclaimed, jumping to hug him.
"Cherry!" He giggled, accepting her hug.
"And me, the beloved Patches." The slightly sluggish teenager sauntered over, throwing her hair back dramatically.
"And Patches." Tom smiled, dragging her into the hug.
They spun a bit, Tom and Cherry laughing uncontrollably like small children. Patches had a small smile on her face.
"Okay, okay! Enough! I'm thirsty." Patches gently shook them off. Cherry pouted, leaning on Patches.
She rolled her eyes at her beloved friend, shuffling inside the cafe with the teenage children behind her.
"Good morning, what can I get for you?" A teenage girl greeted the trio.
"Good morning..." Patches mumbled, staring for a good second or two.
"I want a..." Cherry dragged out the 'A', "Peppi!"
"Frappuccino, double shot please." Tom's hand loosely pointed at the menu.
"And for you, ma'am?" The girl stared at Patches.
"Mocha, please." She nodded.
"Coming right up!" The cashier smiled.

From here on out, these upcoming scenes will be random plot points in the possible book.
-Alistair shoved Tom against the wall.
"Fucking pussy. Just go for the damn high note, I know you can do it!"
