As Richy wheels up the ramp he hears the crowds screaming. He sees the rest of his band mates walking up the stairs on the other side. Richy starts having a flashback of how he got stuck immobilized in this wheelchair... Richy and all his band mates were drunk driving when they were younger and they swerved and crashed down the hill. everyone else was minorly injured but he had scars all over his face and his legs were crushed. He never took of his mask for this reason and no one knew his identity for sure.
