I constantly glance over at Zach and his fricken bagel. I glance over one more time to catch him looking at me. He sighs and holds it out in front of me so I can see the road and take a bite out of it.
"This is why I love you." I say chewing the bagel in my mouth. "I'll treat you to Starbucks after school." I say seeing as he rolled his eyes. He gives in and gives me a huge smile. The thing about me and Zach is we're coffee addicts. I drove in the student parking lot and with luck on my side got a really close spot to the front doors, with no Meghan's Mercedes in site. I head to my locker and Zach heads to his and we meet up at the class we have together this morning. We're both surprised to see someone already in the classroom before us. The guy was looking out the window, not paying any attention to us.
We took a few seats in front of him so we could still have a window seat, well so I could. I kept on glancing back at the guy, his hair was a very dark brown maybe even black but his eyes were these amazing blue, somewhat like mine. I can't quite put my finger on where I've seen those eyes before but I know I have. He lazily looks over at me and I look away, blushing. I roll my eyes at my ridiculousness and focus back on what Zach was saying.
"The horror movie on last night was terrible, especially all that fake blood, I could see that it was syrup and ketchup." He says shaking his head, he sighs and I look at him more focused. "You're getting bored aren't you?" He asks.
"No... I just keep on thinking I forgotten something but whenever I try to remember I can't put my finger on it." I tell him, my hands underneath my chin as I ponder over this. We hear a sharp intake of breath and we both glance back at the guy behind us, he stared at me, intently then turned away like he wasn't caught staring. The bell rang and students started to file in. When the teacher walked in I hadn't noticed.
"Miss Henrickson? Are you paying the least bit of attention? This is important and if you didn't come to school today to learn, than you should leave." I look up at the teacher before me; Ms. Reynolds. Her perfect straight hair up in a tight bun and she wore a pencil skirt, a white blouse and a blazer, with heels. Very businesslike. Very strict, clean and tight. I found it annoying. I sighed and stood up, grabbing my things, I already had a major headache from all that thinking and trying to remember something I don't even know what I should be looking for. "And where do you think you're going?" She asks once I was almost out the door.
"You said if I wasn't here to learn than I should leave, I'm taking your advice, I hope you don't want to bite your tongue now. Either way I don't care, you said what you said and the whole class heard it, I suggest to you to never say that again." I say icily and leave, making my way to my car. I get inside and about five minutes later hear a tap on my window. I was in the middle of texting Zach that I would pick him up when school ends. I look up to see the guy with the blue eyes there I furrow my eyebrows and roll down my window.
"Uhm, mind if I tag along?" He asks.
"I do mind." I say, who the hell does this kid think he is? I am not going to let him in my car. I don't even know his name.
"Oh..." For once he looks human, unlike from before in class, unfazed, distanced, and mysterious. "Well, than this sucks..." He lets out a sigh. I raise one of my eyebrows and he looks at me and sighs, rubbing the back of his head. "You see I was hoping you'd say yes cause I kind of left class too, seeing and hearing what you said was completely true. Plus I wasn't really here to learn either."
"So you were here to lounge around?" He looks at me and smiles. I feel my heart thump hard and loud.
"Pretty much." He says. I turn away.
"At least tell me your name so I don't take a total stranger with me." I say with a sigh.
"Ryder Poezyn." He says with a charming smile. I look at him.
"You have a strange name Ryder. Get in." He walks around the car and gets into the passenger seat. I put my car in reverse and leave the schools premises. I know I was going to hear an ear full from Uncle John when I get home.
"So where are we headed?" He asks and I realized I haven't' told him my name yet. I shrug.
"Also call me Dani." I say driving to whatever destination we end up at. It was eerily quiet in the car. I sigh and turn on the radio; it was just a soft murmur of voices talking about a car crash. I look up to see the road filled with tons and tons of cars, I groan. I turn off the radio and glance over at Ryder.
"So...Ryder, was it?" I say and he nods, his eyes were closed, his right hand in a fist holding his head up while his elbow leaned on the door. "Tell me about yourself, I for one want to know all about you Ryder, seeing as I had never seen your face at my school before." I say trying to start up a conversation that I wasn't really particularly interested in but, I also hated traffic and dead silence. If one of us didn't talk I was going to blow it.
"I moved here last weekend. My parents live separately from me. So I live by myself." I glance over at him, his eyes still closed and his lips were partially open. I shake my head and hit my hand on the horn accidentally getting glares from the drivers around us. I groan again. "I take it you don't like traffic?" I sigh.
"Pretty much, traffic is such a hassle." I say.
"So did anything exciting happen to you in the past few days?" Ryder asks.
"Besides me storming out of the classroom? This is all the excitement I get." I honk my horn at the car in front of me. There's like enough space for two cars to get in, in front of him. With a slight lurch the car goes forward. I follow smoothly behind him.
"You don't remember last night?" I hear him murmur but, I don't quite catch it all.
"Huh?" I say and look at him.
"How long have we been on this road?" He asks. I shrug. "Take the first cut-off." I nod and swerve out of my lane, at my first chance and take the cut-off. After a while we stop at a gas station to put a bit of gas in silver beauty even if she didn't really need it, I wanted her to purr and be full. When I finished, Ryder came out of the gas station with a bag.
"What's in the bag?" I ask as we both slide into our seats.
"Snacks, might be a while till we get back to our town, so...I think the traffic should die down in a few hours at most four, what do you want to do?" He asks. I sigh. He takes out a chocolate bar; Kit Kat and hands it to me. I smile wide.
"This is my favorite chocolate bar." I say smiling and take it. I open it up and take one, I hand him one too. With both take a bite into it, with satisfaction written all over my face. "Thanks." I say after we successfully ate it all. I started up the car and drove. We ended up in a museum; since I have never been to one.
// A/N: the hottie is Ryder. This is where the fun in creative comes in. I hope you guys enjoyed!!! I was going to put this into two seperate chapters but I got hella lazy... \\
