THE SHADOW

Chapter 1

As I walked into the classroom, I could barely walk around.  Bean Bag beans were scattered around the room.  Our pencil boxes were out of place and our desks were all tipped over on their sides.  Everything was off the shelves and the books were thrown all over the rug.  The umbrellas were knocked over on top of the books.  The Smart Board had fallen down and broke in half.  The windows had shattered.  All of a sudden, all the lights went out and the classroom became pitch black.  I looked at the door just in time to see a shadow bolt through the hallway, and I thought to myself, “I need to catch the thief.”  So, I ran out of the classroom and I shouted “I will be back Miss Towne!”

Hoping to do the same thing, Noah and John chased after me.  When they caught me, I started to tell them about the shadow I saw.  I also told them that I was headed towards the principal’s office, to tell Mrs. Turner to call a bus to pick me up.  I needed to get my detective gear, so I could find out what the thief did after they destroyed our classroom!

This is going to be a while.  I hopped on the bus with Noah and John.  “Off we go!” I yelled as the bus started to move.  When it pulled up to my house, I jumped off the bus and ran as fast as I could to get my detective gear.

I got back to school and headed back to my classroom.  As soon as I walked in, I saw more things destroyed.  I asked Mrs. Towne and my class if they saw a shadow.  They said at the same time “No we did not see a shadow.”  With a shout, “We just came back from P.E.”  I will be looking for evidence.  The evidence could be anywhere in the schoolyard.

This will take all day to investigate.  I will tape numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.  I like to keep track of what the criminal has done.  This will help me lead to a possible answer to our mystery.

“I will not stop until this crime is finished!” I said.

“This crime will never be done until 1 or 2 days are over.  I will get this done!” I said

“This will be a long day”, Noah and John said.  “Phillip, we will get our own detective gear to help you”. They said.  “Boys, you have to earn it”, I started to hear yelling and screaming.

I followed the noise; it turned out to be classes having recess outside my class window.  I never found out that the shadow was, do you want to know what I did find out?  You will find out in my next story The Shadow is back.

Chapter 2

The shadow is back!  I yell as I ran up and down the hallways.  One classroom hollered as I passed.  I think about the teacher who worked in the classroom.  It was Mrs. Cahill’s classroom!  I couldn’t believe my eyes when I walked into the classroom.  I saw a shadow outside the window!  John, Noah, come on and help me with this crime.  Noah go out front and run around. John you run out the back door and run around.  I will jump through the window.  I said before you go, check your walkie talkies and here are your very own handcuffs and the keys to them.

“Come on, we can do this” John, Noah and I said as a cheer.  Let’s go and get the shadow in Jail!  I jumped out the window.  I found the shadow…..was….SIMON!  Simon is my worst enemy.  He is a skinny person with yellow eyes and bright pink lips.  He is always causing mischief for me.  Ring, ring, ring the phone sounded.  As I picked up the phone, I heard loud breathing on the line.  I hung up the phone.  Time to catch the shadow.  I whispered.  I saw Noah and the side of the shadow and John on the other side.  I ran up to them and before I could speak I realized the shadow was hand cuffed.  “Nice going boys!”  I said.  “Thank you”.  Noah and John said at the same time.  “Can you put the shadow in your cruiser?” I said “sure thing boys.  “Off to Jail the Shadow will go!”  I yelled.
