Y/N could only sigh as she looked at the boy before her, eyes squeezed shut, face coated with a blush as he stuttered out a broad confession of love. She looked at her phone, swiping away a notification, then back at the boy she deemed pathetic."Sorry. I'm not interested." She said, a look of mock sympathy on her porcelain face. "You can try again some other time though, when you're less of a coward, okay?"
She took the glossy red lollipop out of her mouth and stuck it into his, walking away apathetically. The boy gulped, tears in his eyes as he took the candy out and threw it to the side, looking at his middle school uniform, now littered with wet spots from his tears.
The H/C haired girl only dusted off her blazer and skirt. She was ultimately unaffected by the boy's confession or his heartbreak over her rejection. She didn't see why she should feel bad. He was the one who chose to confess, and in doing so he took on the risk of cruel rejection.
"How heartless!" A girl with curly red hair whispered to her friend who nodded, eyes wide.
"I hate her." She agreed, shaking her head. "She's so cruel! How could she reject someone so kind?"
The girls screamed, feeling a hand on each of their shoulders. They looked behind them, finding two auburn haired boys with bowl-cuts.
Everyone knew those boys. They were the Hitachiin twins. They kept to themselves and nobody really knew anything about them.
"Who's that?" They asked in sync, pointing at Y/N, who had stopped her exit to speak with a girl, one of her few friends.
"Oh, that's Y/N L/N." The redhead whispered. "You don't wanna get close to her. She'll just break your heart and leave you out on the curb like she does to everyone else..."
"Speaking from experience." Her friend said with a frown. "Y/N played us too. She's dangerous, she knows exactly what words to say...how to smile and laugh and make you feel important."
"She's the worst kind of person. Steer clear."
The girls took a final glance at the strange boys and walked away, desperate to get away from the class loners, the weirdos.
The twins looked at each other and shrugged before leaving to play video games on their phones.

"You have got to be kidding." Y/N's friend, Ivy, spat with venom as she glared at the twins before her. "You two should just leave her alone already. She doesn't want anything to do with you. You're boring."
Y/N glanced up from her phone to look at them. It was their final year of middle school and the twins had already fallen into her trap the year prior. Y/N played them both at the same time, with such ease that it was genuinely horrifying.
They knew they'd get dropped like nothing but it was so hard to listen to logic when her pretty eyes were concentrated only on them.
"Oh." She smirked. "Hi."
"You didn't reach out to us all summer." Hikaru muttered, clenching his fists. Y/N tapped your chin.
"Hmm...really?" She tilted her head before laughing degradingly. "That must be because I can hardly remember who you two are! I have a new girlfriend now so I won't be needing the two of you."
Ivy laughed loudly, as did the rest of your horrid little friend group. Hikaru and Kaoru looked at one another.
"Not that she'll stick around very long either!" Y/N's other friend, Sin, called out mockingly. They laughed again. "Man, Y/N, you're a master on the fields!"
"Can it, Sin." Y/N kicked him in the shins and he snorted.
"Its like a mosquito bite!"
Y/N rolled her eyes, hitting her cigarette and blowing the smoke into Hikaru's face. He coughed and waved it away.
"Bye bye." She smiled sweetly. Kaoru and Hikaru merely walked away, seemingly unaffected but carrying a deep amount of pain in their guts.
"Man, what losers." Ivy giggled, tapping away at her phone. "Everyone warned them about you and you still managed to break them, Y/N. You're such a whore."
Y/N smiled. "Aww, you're too kind."
