A soft chuckle escaped through her bright smile, do you love me? she said to me as we danced in the water.
...the only thing I remember perfectly from that night. We were both drunk, not thinking straight. But those words stuck to me, did she really mean that? What did I say to her?
I haven't heard from her in 2 days and I'm worried.3 Days Ago:
*knock knock*
"Hey Elizabeth, I'm back. Can you open the door? I forgot my keys" I said from the other side.
I heard footsteps coming my way and the click of the knob unlocking. She stood right before me, with her messy wavy hair and glistening eyes. She looked up at me and said,
"Oh my, I'm starving. Thank you for everything. Really..I can't be anymore grateful for your hospitality."
"It's really no problem at all, I'm happy to help." I said with a sincere smile.
I sat the food on the table and she unpaused the movie she was watching. I took a glance and it seemed really intriguing. She saw the puzzled look on my face and began to fill me in on the details. The way she talked about it so excitingly made me feel some type of way. I can't explain it. Was this the feeling of falling in love? No...no it can't be. I don't know a thing about her, other than her name. As much of a stranger she is to me, I am a stranger to her. I won't be finding out much about her if I don't step up my game.
We finished the movie and our food. It was good day with the group and to top it all off, ending the evening with her. I'd wish days like this could happen all the time, but with something more.As the clock reached midnight, I was finding it hard to keep my eyes open. I was exhausted. Not only was it a good day, it was also a long one. I eventually passed out at some point. The last thing I remember was her mentioning some kind of get together while she looked at her phone.
It was the next morning and the first thing I see is Elizabeth coming in with breakfast in her hands. I rubbed my eyes and sat up on the bed. I said good morning and she did as well, then made my way to the bathroom to freshen up. As I come out, she's sitting waiting for me to join her. She had a natural smile on her face, one that I hadn't seen. The sunlight peaking through the open blinds and sheer curtains made her glow.
While we ate, she asked me what time I'd like to head to the party. I was confused and asked her about what party. She then explained that she was talking about it last night and that I had agreed right before passing out. I told her that I'll go, since I've never really been to a party and this could be a great way to step out of my comfort zone.
I then realized I'd never asked her, what year she was in. She had beautiful round sunken eyes with soft youthful features, so I couldn't tell if she was a high schooler or a college student.
She was in her 2nd year of college, but really she should be a senior in high school. Elizabeth was too smart and was being held back by the other kids back in 8th grade, so they moved her up a grade, but even that was still not challenging enough for her. Her dad decided to keep her there for the year, but the following year she went against his wishes and moved up another grade. He didn't realized it until her senior year when he found acceptance letters from colleges and universities in the mail while Elizabeth was out with friends. When she got home he scolded her for skipping another year without his consent. Apparently he said a lot of hurtful things to her that she didn't want to talk about. From what she told me, he wanted to control her life for as long as he possibly could, she was afraid of him. The expression on her face while she talked about her dad proved it. After getting somewhat deep she said, "well that was a bit a much, kinda went over and spilled with you. I guess I'm comfortable. But ignore that and let's talk about something else like umm what we want to become when we grow older."
So what do you want to study? She asked
I'm not too sure yet, I am still a junior in high school.
Oh wow, I could've sworn you'd be a bit older. You have a mature face and it makes you really attractive.
I had always thought I had a baby face to be honest, I guess that's not how people really see me which gives me somewhat of a relief...So since you're in your 2nd year, what are you studying to become?
Well I'm an English major. I love literature and how beautiful words can come together and touch others hearts with their phrases. I write poetry at times and I'd like to work as an editor or even an author at some point. We continued to talk and she mentioned that she got into poetry because writing down her emotions helped her cope as a child. Though she lived in luxury, she often felt alone. As a kid her mind was too much to handle and went to therapy. She was too smart and many kids excluded her from things so writing helped the tension calm down.
Elizabeth left after breakfast to go run some errands. She told me she'll come pick me up around 7:30pm. While I waited for the hours to pass by, I decided to hang out with the group as they had planned to go out for lunch. Our chaperones and officials had agreed to give us the weekend consisting of Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays to explore and enjoy ourselves. Thankfully it was a Saturday so we didn't have to ask. They were all ready downstairs and waited for me an extra 10 minutes due to my last minute decision. The second we got in the car, Maritza jumped excitingly for the aux cord, startling us a bit. Then we heard "Call Me Maybe" begin to play, all the girls including us guys got into the song as we headed to our destination. The smell of the beach and the peak of summer gave me a sense of peace, and I could feel that everyone felt the same too. The palm trees and light breeze complimented the warmth of the afternoon sun. We all sang various hit songs while expressing pure happiness at one another with laughs and smiles. I wasn't ever the type to just hop on so quickly onto new people, but with them it all felt just right, I felt really good being around their energy. I guess I finally found my crowd. It really makes me want to become more outgoing. I'm glad I decided to come to this trip after all.
I didn't really know where we were going for lunch, all they said was that we were going. Surprisingly no one asked or seconded guessed it, we just went for it. Maritza was the one that invited us along with Loren. Only they knew, but by the time we got there everyone asked where we were all at once, synchronizing our voices. They both laughed and told us we're having greek food. Loren had found this place on Pinterest, it was called NOVY. That's when we noticed there were tables outside, thus concluding where we would be taking our seats, continuing to relish on the breathtaking weather.
The transparent ceiling gave us a nice view of the blue sky without the sun glaring in our eyes. We joined tables together to fit all of us and began to order our food and drinks. We talked about each other in deeper thoughts and told each other about our pasts. I didn't talk much about my childhood as it consisted of my abusive father. I did mention how Luis and I met and became great friends and my life after the age of 14. Wasn't much to say as it was only 3 years of story telling. But I'm more of a listener and I enjoy hearing others about their lives and how they came to be who they are. In a way, other peoples happiness makes me happy and seeing their faces light up as they talk about their passions warms my heart. Maritza did ballet up until last year, but after breaking her leg during a performance, her career ended. She had a huge opportunity to make it big, but one wrong step cost her dearly. Her leg for the most part is healed, but when she tries to dance, she feels a slight pain on her tibia. Even though ballet was everything to her, she didn't let her injury affect her. Instead she saw it as an opportunity to explore new things and she found a liking to poetry. She'll be going to college to study English and grow her writing abilities. Maybe one day she'll be a famous author. Her interest in poetry reminded me of what Elizabeth told me this morning. Hearing Maritza talk about it made me daze into her eyes imagining she was Elizabeth. I wanted to kiss her.

Please leave any feedback and click on the stars if you liked the chapter, it really helps my story gain popularity. I know not much happened here, but pt 2 will have a scene that will begin to form the whole plot of the story. So far the story is just being developed to slowly get to know the characters on a basic level. After Blue Jeans pt 2, you'll begin to see more about the characters feelings and really dig up their pasts and even start to form distinct feelings towards them. I really hope you all like my story so far, and I appreciate every single one of you that takes time out of their day to read my stories. Thank you! And see you all next week for pt 2. <3
