Etheria's Curse

Prologue:

Once upon a time, a time before the Olympians and Titans commenced to exist, five kingdoms inhabited around the region now called as the Balkan Peninsula. Mortal, monsters, and other living creatures lived in harmony and accordance to nature. Peace surrounded the region and all of its inhabitants, camaraderie was in the heart of everyone and equality was amongst all. 

The kingdoms; Sapiro, Hathoria, and Adamya, progressed and its people lived in unity. Their society flourished in time and their state of governance was stable. However, Etheria, a kingdom situated at the center of the region, became aggressive and militaristic with a thirst of power. The region now became unsteady with rumors circulating every household about the imminent invasion of Etheria.

Sapiro, the second largest kingdom in the region, started to protest against Etheria and its crimes against the Diwatas who are being purged because of a prophecy regarding the demise of the great kingdom. In a matter of days the Etherian forces, much skilled compared to the other kingdoms, began conquering every village they find and taking with them the resources they need to continue the war.

Hathoria, the kingdom on the west, started to make amends with Etheria to prevent their kingdom to be raided by the latter while also cooperating with Sapiro in sending secret spies to Etheria to monitor and counter their advances.

Adamya, consisting of mermaids amd little harmless animal-like creatures, wanted to stay neutral but was forced to enter the resistance force due to the Diwatan purge. The Adamyans are known for their very close ties with the diwatas.

The Diwatas received the most gruesome treatment courtesy of the Etherian army by being slaughtered and mal-treated. The empire viewed the Diwatas as the lowest race and the remaining diwatas they held were turned into slaves to serve the queen and her comrades.

The remaining free diwatas concentrated themselves on the east to hide from the clutches of the mighty kingdom. Their leader, Pratyusha, declared the territory as their new kingdom. The kingdom of Lireo.

Etherians worshipped Aether, the primordial god of the day, and made him the patron god of the kingdom. Aether, pleased with the amount of his followers and the sacrifices to him, blessed the Etherians with intelligence, a formidable army, and blessed the four princesses of Etheria. The princesses represented the four ethnic groups that comprise Etheria. The queen, Leia, together with Eliza, Thea, and Aditi were given abilities that overshadow even the rulers of the other kingdoms. 

Leia, the queen and the princess of the Andal tribe, was given the ability of summoning dark energy and is skilled in sword handling. As the queen of Etherian Empire, she rules over her dominion with an iron fist, binding herself to the throne she had long inspired. 

Eliza, the princess of Sensa tribe has the ability of telepathy, telekinesis, and psychometry that makes her hard to defeat in battle as she can read her opponent’s mind. Eliza is an intelligent and wise princess capable of solving hard problems by just concentrating for it. However, Eliza is not so skilled in using physical weapons instead using her intellect. 

Thea, the princess of the Volo tribe, was given the ability of time manipulation, super strength, and super speed. Thea is the greatest warrior of Etheria and can crush her opponents in just mere seconds. As headstrong as she is beautiful, she refuses to marry any man unless they’re able to defeat her in battle. She accepted a charter from Queen Leia to be the captain in the Etherian army. 

Aditi, the princess of Aega tribe, has the ability to manipulate emotions through her bow and arrow. Emotions vary from anger, love, fear, happiness, and lust. She has a strong affection towards love. She is even considered to be kind-natured and motherly. The irony in Aditi is that when her greatest gift and power is manipulation of the emotions of other people, even she cannot control her own.

The world tumbled into the dark abyss of a never ending war. Hundreds of monsters and mortals died and many are displaced. Sapiro, Hathoria, Lireo, and Adamya are putting their cards onto the table as Etheria nears their borders. Diwatas, Sapirians, Hathors, and Adamyans perished as none of them are match to the mighty Etherian Empire.

King Ritwik of Sapiro, King Arnab of Hathoria, Pratyusha of the Diwatas, and King Sanvi of Adamya prayed to Chaos for a solution to this never-ending endeavor to stop the Etherians from advancing. They’ve prayed for many days and with those days, the fearsome Etherian army advances near their borders.

Chaos, alarmed with the pandemonium happening with the kingdoms, has agreed to bless the four kingdoms with a jewel. The jewel, shining vividly with power, is a pure white diamond that contains all of the elements essential to life. With this, the four kingdoms may turn the table against Etheria much to their delight. 

With renewed hope and confidence, Sapiro, Hathoria, Lireo and Adamyan forces pushed back the Etherians in weeks of bloodshed and violence. The tides have turned and the Etherians are now fighting in defense for their kingdom. Crops withered, families broken apart, dwindling resources, and education was suspended. 

The forces of the four kingdoms finally breached into one of the last-standing battalion of the Etherian army and marched into the great kingdom. King Ritwik, King Arnab, King Sanvi, and Pratyusha showed the Etherians the real meaning of power. The jewel released a powerful energy blast that destroyed the empire in ruins. Temples crumbled, Infirmaries are on fire, houses wrecked and the main palace collapsed. Queen Leia, Eliza, Thea, and Aditi have no match to the strength of the gem.

Before the last pillar of Etheria fall to her, Queen Leia cursed the world that Etheria will once again rise to defeat its enemies and will conquer everything in its path when the last of the bloodline of Chaos will be born.

The four kingdoms crushed Etheria, debris all over the once great empire. The three kingdoms and the Diwatas rejoiced in their victory, but with that victory befall great responsibility. They’ve decided to put the jewel into Sapirian custody as Sapiro is the most stable kingdom then. Pratyusha, alarmed that the jewel might corrupt Sapiro, decided to cleave the it into individual elemental jewels. Chaos, enraged on what she did, punished her with immortality and being mute until the jewel was restored. Four jewels were born in that occurrence. Four jewels that represent the essentials for life in the world: air, earth, water, and fire. Each kingdom had its share of the jewels; Jewel of Air for Lireo, Jewel of Earth for Sapiro, Jewel of Water for Adamya, and the Jewel of Fire for Hathoria. The kingdoms prospered. And with prosperity, they lived too dependent with the gems.

Gaea took the gems for safekeeping. She gave the gems to the Titans but the Titans did not utilize them. 

When the Olympians defeated the Titans in the First Titanomarchy, the custody was given to them. Zeus held the Gem of Air, Demeter held the Gem of Earth, Poseidon held the Gem of Water, and Hephaestus held the Gem of Fire.

The Gem of Air, shining radiantly with royalty and dignity, is a sapphire with a circular shape.

 The Gem of Earth, glowing brightly with humility and sophistication, is a topaz with a rectangular shape.

 The Gem of Water, radiating luminously with calmness and simplicity, is an emerald with an ovoid shape.

 And the Gem of Fire, gleaming vigorously with courage and perseverance, is a ruby with a triangular shape.
