Ezra Iason Sapphirus.

Fae weren't the most notable person, just a simple middle class citizen who happened to commit the occasional crime every once in awhile. What is that crime you ask?

The theft of life clocks.

You see, in Ezra's universe, such a thing called life clocks. Everyone has one that magically manifests one one's person about thirty minutes to an hour after one's birth. As long as a person lives, the watch will work as a normal pocket watch would but as one gets closer to the date in which they are meant to die, the watch will slow down until it finally comes to a halt and will stop ticking.

Then that person will know that their time, is up.

No one knew when these clocks first started to make their way into the lives of the people within this universe since they had been around as long as anyone could remember. Even for as long as these clocks had been around, there wasn't much known about them. Of course there had been experiments with them throughout the years and such but, they were left with as many questions as they had before the tests. All they knew was when they manifested, sort of why they manifested, and what happened when they stopped ticking. As far as the people of Ezra's universe knew, there was no way to use these clocks to alter the length of one's life.

Which was wrong.

Ezra had found such a way to alter the length of life and that method included stealing other people's life clocks. The key was that the person had to have a decent amount of time left in their life and then you had to remove a piece from their clock and put it in your own, while keeping the clock still functional during the extraction process. Once you removed the piece from the clock it became unable to function, due to the missing piece so technically it was also indirect murder but what the public doesn't know won't hurt them.

Ezra was a selfish person, fae'll admit it. And even know fae wonder if this is faer punishment for somehow messing with fate and time at the same time. Fae also wonder where the people they killed would've been if Ezra hadn't interfered.

Ezra truly wishes fae had perished with the rest of their universe.

Instead, here Ezra was, unable to die unless their clock finally stopped ticking.

Fae had tried everything; smashing the watch, forcing a malfunction, ripping the hands out of the watch. It was all for naught.

Fate has made it abundantly clear that the only way to atone is not to end faer life, but to prevent other universes from the horrid end Ezra's universe suffered from by making sure everything is in working order when the Armageddons start.
