The bus comes exactly at the time it's supposed to, but Will and I still barely make it. It's big and dark yellow, with windows opening up every seat. Big tires, too. I sigh and step up the three steps. "You can sit in seat 2, the three seater," the bus driver seems not excited to be here. I nod and find the seat marked 2, and look for the one with three seat belts. Once I'm sitting, I notice Will walking straight past me, which means we won't be sitting together. I huff.
"So you're Eleanor Hopper?" a voice says. I whip my head around and see a girl sitting inside the seat. I readjust my blue bracelet, guarding the 011. I had to go by Eleanor, because otherwise it'd be too suspicious. "How'd you know?" I responded. The girl points up. There's a name tag, Kelsey Baker and Eleanor Hopper. Kelsey has brown hair that's sorta tinted bright red, almost like a blood color but a bit more brown. She's wearing a white t-shirt tucked into a black jean skirt with three black buttons down the middle.
"Kelsey Baker," I mumble.
"Your name has been there since the beginning of October, how come I'm just meeting you now?" she asks. I told her that I moved in the beginning of October, and just started school today. Kelsey nods. She asks where I'm from."Uh Indiana, small town," I answered. Kelsey nods again. We're not making eye contact. It's kind of weird, I don't really know how to make friends. "Wanna be friends?" I blurt. That's what Mike told me he asked Will when they became friends, and they're best friends now and forever.
Kelsey lets out a small laugh, "Yeah sure. Hey show me your schedule and I can help direct you to the right place. Oh and you should sit with Laura, Chris and I for lunch. And your friend or whatever can sit with us too."
"He's my kind of brother," I say. Kelsey looks at me slightly puzzled, and asks what kind of means.
"I was adopted when I was 12, and he'd been a close family friend ever since. And well, a few things happened and now I live with his family," I explained in the shortest version I could.
"Your life seems eventful, for a small town," she jokes. You have no idea. I smile softly, and pull the schedule Joyce printed for me yesterday out of my backpack, handing it to Kelsey. "Oh we have the same homeroom! Which means this month we have art and gym. Then in November and December we have music and gym," she explains. I nod.

The first half of the day is uneventful. For the first hour I am in the guidance counselor's office, getting a locker and a rundown of some school stuff. Then I have math, and all my classes are the lowest levels possible. Joyce, Jonathan and Will have been teaching me stuff these past few months but I still don't know that much. Then we have gym and now it's lunch.I follow Kelsey out, and find Will right outside the gym. "Hey! So Will this is Kelsey and Kelsey, Will," I introduce them. They wave to each other and we keep walking. "Laura Chris and I sit in the courtyard, so just follow me there," Kelsey starts walking. Will and I are quiet and follow her.
When we get to the table, there's a girl with cuffed light blue jeans and a light yellow shirt that has white words spelling "Be Happy" on it. She has white sneakers on and bright blonde hair and blue eyes. She's really pretty, I wish I could look like her. A guy with light brown ruffle hair and honey eyes is wearing a black shirt and gray sweatpants. "This is Laura and Chris, and this is Will and Eleanor," Kelsey says.
"Oh, El is fine," I smile. Kelsey sits next to Laura, so I sit down next to her, and Will sits next to me connecting the circle next to Chris. "New kids?" Laura asks.
"They are, and also my new besties," Kelsey grins. I chuckle and look around the cafeteria. When do we get food? An older lady comes over and tells us to go up to the lunch line. All five of us walk up together. I'm mindlessly walking around, and almost hit a tall lanky guy, with blonde hair. A hand pulls my arm back into them. "You don't wanna hit Chase, he's an asshole," Chris responds. I blink out of whatever daydream I was in. Chris's arm is still securely around mine, and my face flushes.
"Uh thanks," I subtly wiggle my arm out.
"Oh sorry," Chris laughs. I smile and stand closer to Will. I keep wanting to look back at Chris. He's tossing a water bottle back and forth with Laura, and pretty effortlessly."What, do you like my best friend or something!" Kelsey jokes. Like him, like a crush? Am I even allowed to do that?
"Oh she hasn't gushed about him yet," Will smirks. I roll my eyes, and Kelsey asks who Will was talking about.
"I have a boyfriend, back home," I said.
"Adorable! You'll have to show me a picture sometime!" Kelsey smiles. I shrug and turn my body to where all the food is, and grab a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Kelsey and I keep busy on the bus ride home talking about our teachers and things like that. I really like her, she's funny and sweet and really open. Once we're home Will and I rush to the kitchen to get a snack."I don't see how 10:45 in the morning counts as lunch!" Will complains. I agree, grabbing a bag of premade popcorn from the pantry. School was kind of a weird thing, eating lunch super early and just learning about random things that nowhere add up. Joyce comes walking to the kitchen where Will and I are eating our snacks. "How was it?" She gives Will a side hug.
"Pretty good, El already made us like three friends somehow," Will stuffs his face.
"Yeah their names are Kelsey, Laura and Chris. Oh and I can actually follow some of my classes!" I grin. Joyce nods and says that's good. I run a few fingers through my knotty brown hair and it feels longer than normal. It's always growing these past few years. We spend the rest of the day just hanging out, but it goes pretty fast since school is so long, and borning, but it's good I'm turning over a new leaf.
A/N: yay chapter two! i struggled with writing three but i have it mostly drafted so i should update more often and also kelsey, laura, and chris are my only main oc's! next chapter we see mike and nancy again :))
