I stopped in front of the older cafe and walked in, a small tingling sound echoing through the small building. Nobody was here. I walked to the front counter and smiled at the boy. He looked oddly familiar.
"What would you pike today, miss?" He asked kindly, smiling slightly as he gazed down at the counter. I smiled as well and looked at him closely.
"Hiro? Right?" I asked, nervous that I would get it wrong, or that he wasn't even the boy that had literally plowed into me the other day. He nodded slightly, a small bit of pink appearing on his cheeks.
"Heh.... yeah, that would be me. The one and only." He sighed a bit nervously and looked up at me. His gaze lingered on mine for a moment before he shook his head abruptly. "What would you like.....er..... Kanake? Right?" I laughed and nodded.
"The one and only." I said, only making him blush a bit more. "Just an iced tea." I moved my hand down into my pocket and pulled out a ten dollar bill. He shook his head.
"On me, Please. I'll cover it." He smiled and moved back, getting me my tea and then handing it to me. I couldn't help but smile at his kindness. He was cute too.
"You... sure?"
"That's why I said it, hun." He whispered, turning back and washing his hands. I looked down and stepped away from the counter, not knowing what to do.
"So.... empty house?"
"Pretty much."
"Oh....."
He laughed slightly and turned back to me. "Don't act so awkward." He scolded. I barely even knew him and he was already so friendly.
"I'm sorry... it's just, you just gave me a free drink. I don't know how to repay you." I said, sounding a little bit too cheesy. He smiled and leaned forward on one arm. He looked me in the eyes.
"How bout you let me take you on a date?" I blushed a bit and looked away, feeling a bit embarrassed. He sighed a little before straightening himself out.
"I'd Love to." I said calmly, turning to take my leave. I walked towards the door and opened it. "Talk to you at school tomorrow?"
"Yeah!" He sounded happy. I smiled and walked out of the warm comforting building. Hiro was really nice.
I sighed happily and walked home. After stepping inside and almost being caught by the maid, I went to my room where midnight laid on my bed. Her fur was so smooth and clean. She was my favorite kitten.
I smiled to myself and sat down next to her, waking her up from her catnap. "Hi middy." I whispered, petting her head softly. She mewed and began to pur reassuringly.
"Ah, good kitty. I love you so much." I whispered, laying down and closing eyes.
