CHAPTER 2: Restart

Abegail Manalastas' POV

After that weird encounter I had with Alec, I proceeded to the registrar's office with my friends, we got everything we needed.

We proceeded to go to the mall for a little hang out. It's been so long since I spent time with them coz I've always spent mine with Greg. I missed them so much and di ko iniexpect lahat ng mga nangyari these past few weeks. A lot has happened.

We went inside the seafood buffet restau near the campus. Ito palagi yung pinupuntahan namin if magkakasama kaming lima.

After eating, it feels super good to have eaten with the people you really treasure, ang boring kaya kumain mag-isa.

"Shit, si Avon girl! Abe, look" Rheya said with a surprised tone and I just laughed. The endearment we have towards that girl always gets me.

"Guys, let's just stop already. Alec and that girl are now happy with their relationship and as much as possible, I do not need to be pathetic chasing over a guy who has no principles and a person who doesnt know how to respect others' principles." I said while still recovering after I laughed so freaking hard.

"Wow ha! Ikaw pa nga yung very persistent about your relationship ni Alec, pero now you care less na? I mean that's great pero it's still shocking!" Sabi naman ni Ryzza na tumatawa pa din. If ikaw yung manunuod sa amin, para kaming mga sira na tumatawa, we were smacking the table so hard coz it was too hilarious.

"Anyway, kids lemme change the topic na. After we graduated, would you like to have a part-time job, like teaching in a private school or study for the licensure exam?" Felicia said. By the way, we graduated under the same course and major. Aspiring teachers. Under Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English. Actually our friendship blossomed because of college, we started being friends since the first week of us being freshmen. We had a block section so magka classmate kami halos, but kami talagang lima yung magkakavibe.

"Uhm, I dont know about applying to teach in a private school though, maybe sidelines lang siguro muna ako for a good 6 months? Or more? Like tutoring and whatnot. Yeah, that will do." I said naman sa kanila. Rheya and Ryzza have planned to go apply in a private school and kami naman tatlo, we would stick on picking up tutoring sessions while reviewing na din.

Umalis na kami sa buffet restau and decided to go shopping.

"Si Martin guys oh" I said while looking at Martin choosing some clothes inside a boutique. He is Alec's friend, he is a certified Casanova "daw" can't really confirm. Hes way too much and very out of my league, he even had issues about getting a girl pregnant, or like a girl barging and lashing in the middle of his classes. Like, certified a-hole if you ask me.

"The hell, complete pala yung mag babarkada eh, Kyle, Tyler, Trevor, and Alec's here, with of course...." Rheya said whilst holding her laugh. She better not, I swear!!

"The avon girl" Ryzza, Felicia, Rheya, and Khyle said in unison. I bursted out my laugh because of it, pero hindi naman yung tawa na nakakadisturbo ng ibang tao.

Actually, let me tell you, if you would ask me, the more matured sa amin, in terms of mindset and decision making, si Ryzza talaga, she doesnt confirm something or do something if hindi niya pa na fo-foresee yung aftermath. So most of us rely to her regarding our decision-making. Khylle on the other hand is a very outgoing and go-with-the-flow person, Felicia is very timid and introvert but also do shits with us, nahahawaan na yan siya, dahil sa amin, lastly si Rheya, siya yung very impulsive, actually same kami but she knows what she likes, yan yung na gu-guarantee ko.

Anyway, those 5 men, Martin, Kyle, Tyler, Trevor, and Alec are known to be these notorious a-holes in the campus, ugh, remembering how cliché this is but they are like the F4+1 in the campus but very dangerous kumbaga? Like I couldnt believe I had to put up with Alec.

"Anyhow, let's go na." Sabi naman ni Ryzza. We headed towards the parking lot tas sumakay na going to Ryzza's condo. We have the entire month to enjoy before we move on and get money for ourselves.

Im currently scanning through my twitter feed and I stumbled to Alec's recent tweets and one thing caught my attention, he just tweeted it like an hour ago. It said "guilt is eating me up" something's telling me na it's intended for me, maybe he want to get back with me?

"Akin na yan!" Khylle snatched my phone away from me.

"What are you thinking? Abe! Wake up! Akala ko ba you are moving on na?! I know youre thinking something Abe, I know it! Ano? You thought ikaw mini-mean niya? Abe, pinagpalit ka Abe, he bedded someone else and you were told to fuck off! You are too fucking kind over an asshole! Like, really?" Khylle said without even stuttering.

"A-ang OA mo naman, h-hindi noh!" I said nervously, it hurt, actually. Like getting confronted about it? Ugh, love makes people blind talaga and I can attest to that. Ang gaga ko, super!

"We are doing this for your own good, dont ever involve yourself to someone like him. I know, na you knew from the very beginning about Alec's nature, you know his friends, and he's not that loyal dog you think he is. I wouldnt even be surprised if after this month, that avon girl would get dumped." Felicia said. I just have to protect my heart while im still on the process of healing.

"Okay, okay, hindi na. Give me my phone na. Ill block him, myself. You guys are right." I said and smiled in defeat. I got my phone back from Khylle and unfollowed him. I just unfollowed him so it wouldn't be too obvious na Im still affected. Well, technically, I am, but, I dont wanna let him see that I am? If that makes sense.

We arrived at Ryzza's crib and rested. This day was too much, that silly encounter I had with him was one and that tweet from him. Aish! I should stop na. It hurt but not that painful na talaga. Healing is a process eh, I just have to put up and face whatever this phase has to offer.
