2 | "Go Cup"

We started to walk our way to "Go Cup" and I was surprise that he even walked with me to the place, others would just try to make the conversation go by quick and say something like "oh there's a Pizza Pizza near by that's just a few blocks from here" and would just show me the directions but I guess Dae was beyond those expectations. He started to then look at me as we walk closer to the place.

"So is this your first year here at George brown?" he asked - Dae

"Yah it is, is it obvious?" I said touching my cheeks - Jackielyn

"No I just never really saw you around so I figured." - Dae

I honestly have no clue why this guy is so smiley, he's such a tease sometimes but I doubt he's on that side of the page.

"How about you, is this your second year or maybe third?" - Jackielyn

"Yah it's actually my third year and don't worry you'll get used to the place, I could maybe show you around another day." - Dae

"Awww that's sweet of you, yah maybe." I said smiling - Jackielyn

We then arrived at "Go Cup" thankfully there wasn't much people in line. I looked at Dae and thought he would leave me from here but he stayed in the line with me so I just went along with it. I looked at the menu and then asked him.

"So what do you think is more yummy chicken, beef, or shrimp?" - Jackielyn

"Oooo there all so good.....maybe the beef because it has more flavor." - Dae

"Okay I guess beef it is. Do you also want one? You came all the way here with me, see it more as a thank you lunch." - Jackielyn

"No it's ok honestly maybe I could buy it for you since it's your first time." he said nervously - Dae

"No Dae I insist, give this one to me. A guy who is so genuine deserves something in return." - Jackielyn

"Okay fine, man how did I meet such a sweet person." he said smiling at me - Dae

Its weird how I just met Dae and I already feel so close to him, like I've known him for years. It was then finally our turn and I ordered us 2 beef bowls. As I was about to pay the cashier lady looked at Dae and started to speak in Korean.

"맙소사 안녕 대심." (Oh my goodness hello Daeshim) the lady said - Cashier

"안녕하세요 다시 만나서 좋다." (hello nice to see you again) Dae said to her - Dae

I wanted to say hello in Korean but I was nervous I might pronouns it wrong but I guess it's worth the try to be respectful and friendly.

"안녕하세요." (Hello) I said to the lady bowing - Jackielyn

Dae looked at me shook as well as the cashier lady but I don't know if it's in a bad way.

"안녕하세요 (Hello), are you Korean?" the lady asked - Cashier 

"No I'm not but I'm trying to learn." I said to her - Jackielyn

"Ahh that's good to hear. Are you Daeshim's girlfriend?" - Cashier

I looked at her with sudden shock and Daeshim looked at her with big eyes.

"아니 아니!" (No No!) he said nervously - Dae

"No I just met Daeshim today, he was quite the gentlemen to offer to walk me here." - Jackielyn

The lady looked at Daeshim with a smile

"그녀를 돌봐, 그녀는 특별한 사람이야." (Take care of her, she's a special one) she says softly speaking to him.

"Well it was nice meeting you......." - Cashier

"Jackielyn, it was nice meeting you too." I said to her - Jackielyn

"Your order will come up in a bit." - Cashier

"감사합니다." (Thank you) I said bowing my head - Jackielyn

"감사합니다." (Thank you) Dae said with a bright smile on his face. - Dae

"Have a great day bye." the lady said smiling - Cashier

As we were waiting for our food Dae looked at me like he seemed proudly happy.

"I just met you Jackielyn but you surprised me in many different ways, your generosity and interest in the Korean culture." he said - Dae

"Aww thank you Dae, I truly appreciate it. You also surprised me too today with your kindness, if it wasn't for you I don't think I would be here right now with you." I said softly - Jackielyn

We started to then look at each other eye to eye and something special in that moment felt so genuine. And then............

"2 beef bowls!" called someone

I pushed away smoothly with a smile left on my face

"I should go get that." I said to him - Jackielyn

As I got our food we then started to walk our way back to the parking lot of our school. It was pretty silent on our way back but nothing felt intentionally bad. When we got to the parking lot I gave him his beef bowl.

"Thank you again for coming with me, you really made my day." - Jackielyn

"No worries, I'd like to see you again sometime. Is it ok if I could ask for your number?" he said rubbing the back of his neck all nervously - Dae

"Yah for sure and I'll text you later to tell you how good I like the beef bowl." - Jackielyn

"That sounds great." - Dae

So I gave Dae my number and he gave his also and from there we just went our separate ways. I never expect to meet someone like him on my first day of college :)
