ELEMENTIA ACADEMY : THE LONG LOST GODDESS PRINCESS

Chapter 10

F A Y E

I woke up and saw that I was still sitting at my study table. It's almost midnight when I peak at the window. I head towards the terrace and look at the sky. Stars and the moon are now almost visible. Within the silence, the chirping of crickets is the only thing I can hear. Everything is so peaceful.

'But why do I feel like this?' I don't know how many times I ask myself this question. Every time I look up at the sky I feel calm but at the same time, I feel like there's something wrong and yet I can't point it out.

That night granny and I went to dine and sleep together like the old times when I was a kid. "Granny? Are you still awake?" I ask granny while we 'relaying down in her bed. I didn't receive a response. 'She must be sleeping' I sigh and kiss her forehead and tried to fall asleep.

The next day when I opened my eyes granny is gone. I decided to take a shower first before I go out. I wore a yellow button-down crop top and black jeans. When I'm satisfied with my outfit I headed toward our living room. I saw granny sitting on the couch with boxes in front of her.

"G'morning granny, what's with the boxes?" Granny looks surprised and tried to hide the boxes out of my sight but it's too late because I've seen them already. Due to her haste hiding the box she kind of messed it up. A black cloth fell from the box followed by some papers. Upon noticing the mess it made granny takes her wand out and chants a short spell making the things that fell out from the box return inside of it.

As always every time granny takes her wand out I can't help but be amazed. Granny's wand may look like an ordinary piece of wood at first glance but when she cast a spell its appearance change into a golden wand engraved with leaves at the end handle.

Granny is one of the rare races surviving up until now. They're called witches. To be specific there are two sides of witches, the dark magisses who commit terrible acts and a part of an alliance led by the late king of Destroyiansand the other side, light magisses where granny belongs as one of the head witches within the society.

"It seems like I can't hide it anymore." I was confused about what she's talking about. "Granny?"

She sighs and gave me an apologetic look. " I'm sorry apo but do you remember when I ask if you have a school you want to attend?" I nodded at her. "I've already enrolled your name at Elementia Academy."

"ah, oka-, wait w-what??Elementia Academy? Isn't that the school of elites?" Granny sigh and tap the space beside her. I sit down and look at the boxes in front.

"Open it, Tal" Granny said with a smile.

I look at her before I opened the box. There is a total of three boxes. I opened the first box and saw a witch staff. A black cloak with purple linings in the sleeve and bottom part. A pocket-size spellbook. A golden brooch with a design of moon crescent and stars. And lastly, a wooden wand with a purple orb at the end. My name is also engraved on it 'Faye Crystal Audrey Heartwell'.

I opened the second box and this time 3 books are inside, a notebook, a fountain pen, a small bag, and another brooch it's a plain silver brooch without anything engraved on it. 'A plain brooch? Perhaps there will be changes when I entered the school'. I shrug my thoughts and focus on the last box.

The last box is slightly smaller and lighter than the other boxes so I conclude that it may be the uniform of the school. I open the box revealing a black cloth. 'Ah, this is the one that fell earlier. I pick the cloth and raise it but nothing happened it was still just plain big cloth.

"Granny, what's this?" I ask granny who's silently observing me since earlier. She smiles and motioned me to stand up. I did what I was told and stand up.

"Tal, wear it and you'll see," Granny said with a smile and excited voice. I look at her again before wearing the cloth. Strangely it suddenly emits light and I felt something was hugging me.

When the light disappeared the big plain black cloth turns into a uniform. I was in awe at the design of it. A white blouse was tucked inside a black above the knee-length skirt. The skirt has golden linings at the hem. A black long sleeve cape with gold strings is over the blouse and skirt. I saw black shoes with little heels inside the box so I decided to wear them.

I smile brightly upon seeing my uniform. 'So pretty' I turned to granny and saw her taking pictures of me so I decided to pose randomly. We both chuckled at the result of my pictures.

I saw granny pulling out a box from her bag beside her. She opened it revealing a gold connected bracelet and ring. She picks my right hand and wears it to me. The bracelet fits perfectly on my wrist. The chain that connects the bracelet to the ring in my finger suddenly shortened making it exactly as the length of my wrist to my finger. The ring and bracelet have designs engraved on them. Somehow it feels familiar but I didn't bother asking about it.

I looked at granny and saw her eyes forming tears. She looks very happy after seeing me wearing it. She suddenly held my hands and looked straight into my eyes. "Apo, that bracelet, don't you ever take it off if you're not in danger." Despite my confusion, I patiently waited for her to finish explaining. "It will help you hide your magi and enter the academy as a witch. The spellbook has complicated and hard spells on it for you to study since you know the basic and intermediate spells."

I nodded at her. It seems like this bracelet ring will really hide my magi so I agreed with her. Her eyes suddenly showed sadness. "You'll be leaving tomorrow Tal." My eyes widened in surprise.

"Tomorrow? Why is it so fast granny?" Granny sigh and explained that she enrolled me last month and tomorrow is the first day of school but she didn't get a chance to explain it properly to me.

Time really flies fast, it was evening now and I am preparing the things I have to bring. After my conversation with granny, we bond all day. It was fun, I'm sure I'll miss her so much. For the last time before I sleep I look at the moon and uttered ' I hope everything will be fine'.
