Seth and Roman watched him go, both their hearts broken. Seth closed his eyes as tears began to fall silently, he was pulled into Roman's arms. A few seconds later the hug ended and in silence they packed all of Seth's things. As they did, both secretly hoped that Dean would come back inside and beg them to stay. When he didn't, they both knew it was truly over and with broken hearts they left for Roman's room. Dean heard them leave, he needed a drink badly, so he went back inside threw his shoes and jacket on before he left. He walked around until he found a bar, he went inside and sat down, the bartender joined him and he ordered a whiskey. When it arrived he drank all of it, before the bartender could turn to leave, he ordered two more. A couple hours later Dean was drunk, he could barely stand, but he wanted more, the bartender refused to serve him anymore because he was drunk. Dean didn't like being told no, he refused to leave telling the bartender he's a paying customer, take his damn money and give him what he wants! The bartender had had enough and so the bouncers threw him out, Dean continued to fight refusing to be treated like that! Once outside the bouncers called the police to get rid of him, the police arrived and arrested him taking him to the station. As they're booking Dean in, he continues being uncooperative, causing a scene. Hearing the commotion Detectives Ben Carter and Richard Brooks came out to the front and saw Dean, they looked at each other confused before they rushed to them, knowing something was wrong neither of them had ever seen Dean like this before.
"Officer Downs, what's going on?" Brooks asked the officer as Dean leaned on the desk his head facing away from them as he sang to himself, completely oblivious they were there.
"Drunken disturbance at the Red Rooster bar. Bartender refused to serve him after he became drunk, bouncers threw him out, but he continued fighting so they called us to come get him."
"Any property damage?" Carter asked.
"No sir."
"Did he assault or threaten anyone?" Brooks asked.
"No sir, just drunk in a public place." Officer Downs explained.
"Alright, thanks. We'll take over." Brooks said smiling.
"Alright, be careful Detectives he's a fighter!" Officer Downs said as he walked away, happy to be done with the drunken man.
"Richy, Benny! Hey, how the hell are you guys?" Dean slurred as he finally noticed his friends.
"Hey Dean." Brooks greeted him smiling.
"I'm drunk!" Dean said laughing. "Shh...don't tell anyone though!"
"Come on D, let's go somewhere quiet." Carter said taking off Dean's handcuffs.
A few minutes later while Carter watched a still drunken Dean, Brooks left the room and called Seth and Roman, after talking for a few minutes they told him they'd be right down. 15 minutes later Brooks met them at the front desk and told them what happened, before bringing them to him. When they went in Dean was singing; very loudly, and off key, while Carter sat at his desk doing work as he laughed at Dean. Seth and Roman looked at each other, neither knew what to say or do to help Dean anymore, this was how it started years ago.
"Sethie, Romie! You're here too!" Dean said happily as he finally noticed them. "It's a party now boys!" Dean said slurring his words.
"Dean, what in the hell has gotten into you?" Seth demanded.
"Whisky...beer...99 bottles of beer on the wall!" Dean answered as he began laughing. "99 bottles of..."
"Dean, stop it!" Roman said upset.
"Can we take him to the hotel now?" Seth asked.
"Sure, but before you do we'd like to know what the hell's going on with him?" Carter asked as he joined Seth, Roman and Brooks at the door.
"He's been like this for weeks now. He's running from his problems, and hiding at the bottom of a bottle. His drinking is out of control...again!" Seth answered sighing.
"He hasn't dealt with what happened with King, has he?" Brooks asked gently.
"No, we've tried, but he refuses!" Roman answered sighing sadly, the Detectives shared a look of concern for their three friends.
"How have you two been?" Carter asked gently, noticing the tension between them.
"What do you mean? With the King situation, or Dean?" Seth asked.
"Both." Carter answered.
"Um, Ro and I got help when it comes to King, but when it comes to Dean...we're not so good. Dean...um, ended things between us tonight." Seth answered turning his head as he quickly wiped away a tear that fell.
"That's tough guys, we're so sorry." Brooks said gently patting Seth on the back.
"What happened?" Carter asked.
"We tried to get him to talk to us about King, and his drinking, but he refused. We fought, and he broke up with me and ended his friendship with Rome." Seth explained.
"Why don't Ben and I try talking to him?" Brooks offered.
"Would you?" Seth asked.
"Of course, but maybe we should wait until tomorrow when he's sober?" Carter suggested, as they looked at Dean who was having a conversation with a painting.
"Yeah, good idea. We have another show here tomorrow night, then we leave." Roman said.
"Okay, we'll call you tomorrow and see when a good time to do it is." Carter said smiling.
"We should get him back to the hotel before he starts hitting on any more paintings." Seth said making them all laugh a little.
"It was great seeing you guys again, we would have preferred to know you were back in town with an invite to lunch, not this!" Brooks said, as they all laughed again.
"Us too." Roman said quietly, as the four men hugged.
"Come on D, let's go back to the hotel." Seth said, as he helped Dean to the door. "Bye guys, thanks again."
"Anytime guys, see you tomorrow! Dean, be good and sleep this off, got it?" Brooks said smiling.
"Got it! Nighty night!" Dean said saluting as he laughed, he then began singing again as the left the station.
