Neighbors: a person living near or next door to the speaker or person referred to.
I always lived in Mesa Street, San Pedro California. The description of the place where I live could be said to be an ugly-looking 60s home, the outside made with something that looks like concrete painted pink. My front door is located in an alley where every car and every truck pass by. The outside of the house is a scam compared to how the inside looks, my house is humble, has various electronic devices, while in the garage, we have an Audi sedan waiting to take us where we want to go.
The building right in front of our house that also shares the alley has Five garage doors, meaning each garage is a family or a renter who lives there.
The first apartment is for a woman who we make fun of for believing she is the owner of the alley. We don't have space to put our trash bins in the alley so we used to put them close to her garage door, once she screamed at me because I put these a bit close to her garage door. She screamed at me like if she was my mom, so I said "you aren't the owner of the alley"
The second home belongs to a Philippine man and his girlfriend or wife, both of them are nurses. The guy has a black mustang that he takes care of like a baby, he's always repairing it. The only thing that I hardly do not like about them is the fact that around ten in the morning of every weekend he turns on the mustang to see how it sounds, or to give it maintenance. The car sounds like an old tomato can that you kick around hundreds of times, since my mom works at night and sleeps during the day, the car wakes her up because it's really noisy. Once my mom got so tired that she said "SHHHHHHHHHHH" with all her soul. He also has a shotgun and a sniper, sometimes he cleans his sniper on his balcony. Although they are nice neighbors who also helped me and my brother with the lady who thinks she is the owner of the alley.
After the Filipino, comes the bewitched apartment number three but I'll tell you about that in a little bit.
After the bewitched apartment comes the most terrible and unconscious mother I had ever seen. The fourth apartment is rented by a Mexican woman who lived with her husband or her secret lover, I can't honestly tell you. The man and her used to be pretty romantic until he began to hit her and things like that. In 2015 a baby came into her life, and he left her. Ive see the boy grow up. At first, as it was just her, she took care of him but then something happened. The woman became very unhappy and stopped taking care of the boy who she named "Juan Pablo". Lots of times she was on the balcony texting on her phone as Juan Pablo cried inside hopeless for some attention. As the years went by and he grew up the kid had various issues like lack of attention. My mom always said, "he needs to get checked because he has a problem."
Juan Pablo has Autism, the kind that doesn't show physically but the mental one. He likes to throw heavy objects down the balcony. Once he threw a chair as a car passed by in the alley. Now in days, he takes off all his clothes scratches his you know, lots of times he gets naked just to pee from the very top of the balcony. One day the father came back home and the Mexican woman told him that the boy had autism and the man blamed it on her.
*Side note* /// Men are the ones who pass on the autism trait to the children during sex, not women.
I guess as a woman who had to carry around an unwanted child created by an unwanted relationship, Juan Pablo was more of dead weight on her shoulders. Then, when Juan Pablo was around two years old, I don't recall the woman having a bump on her stomach but another baby came into her life. I'm sure that this is her legitimate son because she takes care of him with much love. As more years went by the smallest son also did the same things as Juan Pablo like throwing toys and banana peels from the balcony. They both threw Hot wheel cars down the balcony where cars crush them every day. Juan Pablo got so big and strong that they even put a security barrier so that he wouldn't throw his little brother down. It was as serious as that. I want to finally say that the woman leaves the kids on the balcony the whole day while she is inside or escapes the house from the back door. The two kids cry every day because they want to use the bathroom or because they simply want some attention from their mother. It's something sad to see but it also shows the type of education and love the woman is giving to them.
