Chapter One:

So you know that guy. Your ex?.

You dated but it just didn't work out. You broke up feelings lost and then a few years later, your feelings are coming back.

Chance Taylor, a perfect guy. Eyes so blue you get lost in them. Hair so blonde it looks like un describable. Then it changes brown to the bottom, but it looks great. On him.

He is not fat but not buff, he is skinny but not to skinny. Like perfect. He has a clear face, but small lips. They fit him perfectly, he has a cute voice. Not deep, not squeaky, just perfect.

I don't know why I notice all these things, cause I used to or I do, or I did hate him. He just plays with girls emotions and I can't deal with that. I refuse to deal with that. My emotions are already messed up.

The bell just rang, signaling the end of the school week. I grab my car keys from my locker and my book bag falls to the floor. " Great, just great " I murmur under my breath.

I slam my locker closed and don't even have a second to realize I just ran smack-dab into Chance. He didn't fall but I sure as heck did. I fell hard on my butt, and just sit there. Feeling like a idiot, I notice my book bag is gone.

" Veronica, this is yours I think. " Chance says standing over me. " Thanks, and sorry for running into you. " I say nervously.

" You want to go out with me?" he paused like in mid thought, " go out with me or be my girlfriend ? " he says smiling and playing with his keys. " Veronica I'm sorry for what happened to us when we dated in the past " he looked me right in the eye.

" Are you high? " I asked irritated at the thought of him asking me out. All I did was run into him. We haven't talked in 2 years and he wants to date me.

" I like you.... A lot Veronica. " He says but he isn't fooling anyone. I pull away from his grasp & I think for a while, making him wait longer then I should've. " We haven't talked in two years, but you ask me out? Chance, all I did was run in to you. " I say with a shadow of agitation.

" I know, but I have had feelings for you for a while. You mean a lot to me and I want to try us again. " he says looking me straight in the eyes. " I am sorry for us, but you have to learn to give second chances. "

I straighten my spine and grab my book bag, " You have some learning too. Learn to give me reasons to give second chances. " I put it on my back fix my sweater and turn around to start towards my car.

" Challenge accepted, Veronica Hampton. Challenge accepted." ?He pauses dramatically and adds, " How long will I have to wait? ". I keep walking and say, " Depends, " I turn around and look him dead in his eyes. " How fast can you learn. " I smile and walk off.

He calls my name, he is running to catch up. He slowly stopped & asked me , " Will you go on a date with me today ? To the movies and dinner, I will pick you up at 6:45 tonight. "

I laugh, " If I don't? ". He looks like he didn't expect that, he took a quick second to think what he would say. " I would walk away and....." He stopped and made a serious face, " and never talk to you again. " I looked at him and said, " Guess you better start walking. Just incase ."

He looks down and walks off. I want to shake it off but for some unknown reason I can't. I get in my car , slam the door and start the engine. Why did he get to me so easily? He's a player I tell my self. Player, that's it. Drop it!

I turn on my radio and chill. As I pull in my driveway, I realize my parents are home. " Great. " I don't want to be stuck at home. Where's Chance at when I need him?
