"SERVE" Gretchen Wendler yelled from across the net as she sent the ball flying toward Amber who had been caught of guard by the fast pass. Amber missed the send back by a long shot as her ankle rolled sending the young girl to the floor clutching her ankle tightly.
"I wasn't ready Wendler that wasn't fair!" Amber yelled violently now trying to get up, Gretchen laughed as one of the camp counselors came to help. "Should've been paying attention Fenton, it's a game of volleyball not cloud watching time." Gretchen yelled again trying hard to cover her laugh.
"I looked away for a second to catch my breath the match has gone on for almost three hours and I was getting tired" Gretchen rolled her eyes at Ambers response. "If you want to make the volleyball team this coming fall you can't stop to catch your breath you should know that by now" Gretchen said her voice less loud and the now raspy feature of her voice flowing off her tongue as she offered a hand to the young girl.
"I know Wendler why do you think I'm practicing so much" Gretchen rolled her eyes as she began to help Amber to the nurse.
"Thats what some people call over working yourself"
"Ok that was uncalled for"
"Sure it was Fenton"
By this time they had made it to the nurse and Amber was already being checked on "I'll get you a boot for today you should stay off that foot, I'll be happy to let you stay here overnight just to make sure you stay off that foot you should be in that boot for about a week".
"A week huh, guess you won't be getting any better out volleyball" Gretchen teased before she sat down.
"Of course you'd say that but you even said I was overworking myself so at least I'm basically on a mandatory break and will get my energy back" Amber argued back as the nurse began to put the boot on the girl.
"I may have said you were over working yourself but you might have to reteach yourself how to play V-B" Amber snorted.
"Gretch, it's a week not an entire year you'll survive without me I promise you I may be the best player out there but you can hold your own" Gretchen visually choked back a laugh "Oh Ambs! What would I ever do without you!" She rolled her eyes "note the sarcasm twig you'll be a bench warmer for the next four games due to your leg I'll do perfectly fine without you note that I'm not the one with the boot on my leg."
"Wendler field now!" The coach councilor yelled through the nurses' open window
"Duty calls keep yourself entertained Fenton" Gretchen yelled as she ran outside. Amber sighed what was she to do for the rest of the day the nurse was in and out of the private room checking in on the young girl every so often bit eventually went to sleep in the staff cabin so she was alone.Boredom eventually ensued as Amber found herself looking out of the window it was dark but not dark enough to cloud the tiny cabin that was only a few feet into the woods, how had Amber never noticed it? She looked intentionally at the cabin as the curiosity had hypnotized her. It had to have been an hour but she still hasn't dropped her gaze from the mysterious cabin, her eyes were starting to get heavy but before she could even yawn and turn over to sleep a bright blue light erupted from the window of the outlandish cabin before it dissipated into thin air, where had it gone? Where ever it went Amber was determined to find out.
