Sh'lera 2: Revenge of the Rejected

46: Tensions run high

Sh'lera's POV

"Wade you saved my life," I gasped hugging him tightly. He helped me into the building I saw Adam descending the stairs. "Is she dead? I swear it wasn't what it looked like. She attacked me," He said to me and I held his face. 

"I believe you Adam she's being handled to be taken to a hospital right now," He sighed in relief, really I did believe in Adam but we had other things to discuss like my check up later today, or the fact I saw Roxy and Xavier together and the poor girl was cheating on my son. If I wasn't pregnant I would've already whooped her ass but she was making me mellow. 

"Good are-" 

"Shay I heard you were in the explosion! I told you Wade to leave-" 

"You alone you said nothing about your friends," Wade corrected her, Lydia was about to slap him but she groaned and went over to me. "Are you okay?" I nodded, "Wade saved my life." 

She glared at Wade, "What kind of sick game are you trying to play?" 

He shrugs, "Just that familiar game with you," I rolled my eyes at his words and clenched my hands and released and did this a few times. "Jean is taken to the hospital and Lydia Belle wants you and I to see her baby." Mason said walking through the door. They left soon after and I was with Wade and Adam again. 

"What were you saying Adam?" 

"The check up," We were soon out the building clear of the damage and went to the hospital. I recently changed doctors because I couldn't handle Miss. day's stupidity, Adam thought it was funny when I thought it was anything but. 

Anyway I was now seeing another female doctor named Erin Pitts, she was a beautiful fresh out of college nurse and had me in and out in a matter of minutes. I liked her and wished she was here sooner. 

"Did you hear we are going to have a healthy baby," I gleamed and Adam opened the door for me, 

"Well I'm glad and we only have a few more weeks to go before we meet our princess, I got to start building a nursery. Would you like to help me?" Adam asked and I nodded, "Of course," 

Lydia's POV

I watched Mason knock on the door, "Are you sure she needed both of us? What did she even need us for?" I muttered under my breath, "Well we are trained in the medical fields, she didn't want to see a doctor. She hates hospitals. And you're gonna tell me what has your heart racing so fast," 

He commented I began to stare at him, "My what?" He turns back at me and places my hand on my chest. "Your heart don't you feel it because I can hear it...loudly."

I was speechless and whenever I was speechless which is very, very rare I put my head down. Only Wade could do this, and look where we are now. Pull your shit together Brooks.

But let's just be honest and get down to root of the matter. Having Mason say that about my heart and how he was able to hear it was so....hot. 

That's when the doors open to their small cottage. It was Anthony's voice, "Glad you came, come in." We walked inside and I sat on the couch and created some space between Mason and I. 

"So what are we here for?" I asked Anthony who was sitting down, Belle appeared with Aisha who was still in her pink blanket. "We just need her normal checkup," She smiled and I looked at Mason who was enjoying some damn cookie. 

I got up and leaned over Aisha who was laying on the coffee table, I picked her up and held her close. It reminded me of the time I held Leo he was so young and beautiful and I couldn't believe I created something so wonderful. Also I looked over at Wade who mouthed the words 'I love you,’ it was a fairytale, at that moment I regretted that I ever thought I never wanted kids. But now I would tell anyone that I wouldn't have another thing, and Leo was my best mistake I ever made. He gave me the strength to take Leo away and move on from the love I had for this man and a new old love that never lied with being an assassin. 

Being a mother was a new battlefield I feel I conquered pretty well. "Lydia are you alright?" I tore my eyes away from Aisha and looked at Belle. "Have Mason do it, I-I need a minute." I said putting Aisha in Belles' arms. 

I went across the opening of the cottage over to the den and turned right and saw a bathroom door, I went in and closed the door. I didn't bother locking it, I slide against the wall of the bath tub, and took off my jacket and tried to calm my beating heart. 

What the hell was happening to me? 

There was a knock and I knew it was Mason, he didn't wait for my response and came in. "Are you ready to talk?" He asked sitting in front of me on the floor. I averted my eyes,

"I just have old memories that I can't shake and make me lose it sometimes." 

"Old memories of Wade and your love for him and how it's gone. You want to love but your heart is full of ice and you fear of falling in love." 

"Am I just an open book to you?" I shot back, "Don't fight it Lydia," He spoke just above a whisper leaning forward bringing his hands to open my legs then place his hands firmly on the floor next to my hips. And pushing forward and is inching away from my face, I gulp. 

"You're just the cutest thing," 

I blinked repeatedly, did I hear this man correctly? Damn it Lydia you’re losing your edge. What happened to the Lydia who owned the streets? I guess that died along with leaving Mia. She looked up to that woman. If she saw me now…ugh this was pissing me off. "Lydia," Mason said and I snapped back to reality. "What did you say?" 

"I gave Aisha the check up, I got some cookies to share with you if you want some. Are you ready to leave?" Ah that was the best thing this guy said so far.

"Yea let's get out of here," I said getting up and moving past him, I don't like Mason you guys! Don't you get it twisted alright? It's not like I've seen muscles like his before and his charming ways, been there and destroyed that. 

He's just too perfect for someone like me as twisted as I am, honestly I can't do it. I don't want to add Mason to my bed body count of my life time. No matter how fine and desirable he was, I don't fall for the guy. Better yet fall in his bed,
