I enter through the big castle gates.
Wearing a light bronze gown with a glitter ridden corset, I become someone else entirely. I am once again just another nobody in a sea of strangers.

"Olivia Thoe", I announce to the King and Queen's spokesman as I hand him The Royal Invitation.
Before reateding it, he glances at me from head to toe, making me want to squirm in discomfort and disguist, making it very difficult for me to keep a neutral expression.
Men like this do not deserve the pleasentries provided within the castle. Their meaningless life is not worth the space they occupy.
He, at last, nods at me and gives me a wide smile which only elicits the anger I've become to known.
He loudly clears his throat and announces my "name" to the room below.
I begin to descend the stairs leading to a massive openingt which will serve as a dance floor later in the night.
Couple of people turn in recognition of the name, happily waving as to say hello. I wave back and make my way to the nearest table.
I see an old man, which I recognize to be Leopold, sitting alone, simply observing the rest of the room.
I greet him. "Hello, sir. May I sit here? I'm having a hard time finding my way around this area, with it being surrounded by so many people. This is the clearest space I've spotted from up the staircase" I laugh a little, trying to look lost and a bit awkward.
He simply nods at me and points to the chair apposite of him, right in front of me.
"Thank you."
I turn my face away and towards the dance floor, my only mission now to sit and wait for The Royals to make themselves known.
It's going to be a long night.
But nothing short of what I've been waiting for. For a time. Perhaps short, perhaps long. When you have nothing besides your own voice and thoughts to keep you company, it can be both. A dream, so short you forget you have ever fallen asleep, or a nighftmare, which continues even when you wake.
With that being said, I finish my second glass of-
Wine? I have only drunk alchohol once in my life and it tasted nothing like this.
I've been at this table for maybe five minutes and I'm already fed up with the scenery. People laughing and conversing. Touching and embracing.
I turn to the old guy.
"Excuse me?" I ask him quietly, trying to sound submissive and vulnerable.
He just stares. Makes me wonder if he ever look away, in fact.
I smile awkwarldy, not faking it this time. "Have you any idea when the Queen will enter the ball?"
He shrugs his shoulders and shake's his head a bit.
That, prompted by an awkward pause makes me jump right up out of my chair towards the washroom.
"Thank you," I say, not caring if he heard me anymore, but still silently adding "I guess."
Entering the washroom, I make sure it is unoccupied before turning towards the mirror.
No expression faces me back. Neutral is a mask I often wear. A mask I was trained to wear.
Brown strands cover my ears, leading all the way down to my breasts. I see small rosy lips, a pointed nose with a little Roman bump on it. I trace my jaw, sharp from the unnecessary clenching whilst fighting againts emotions trying to break through. A beauty mark on my right cheek, a scar next to it.
Looking back at me is not Olivia Thoe. It's Alessia. Alessia Hayes. An only daughter of Anes and Sena Hayes.
My parents. The reason why I exist. The reason why my hair is dark and my eyes are bright. The reason why I'm in this shit hole of a place they refer to as a castle. The reason for my revenge.
Because they're dead.
Killed by the word of Queen Mary.
I'm simply here to return the favour.
