Mass Effect: Classified

Prologue

The day was 4 years after the Reaper invasion. I was the only one who knew what happened. Everyone else just knew that something had changed.

The quarians suddenly had no fear of removing their masks as they had no diseases to worry about.

The krogan were able to prosper and have as many children as they wanted with no fear of any stillborns and no fear of becoming ruthless again.

The turians also were able to build their military back to its former glory with having no fear of being compromised. Everyone was prospering.

The Reapers who had previously been invasive now co-existed along with the geth, leviathan, and even the prothean.

And as for the AI? The machines? They became one with the organics. Synthetics were able to have emotions and bear/father children. The organics could reproduce with the synthetics if desired, although the process for all childbirth worked a bit differently than the conventional pregnancy. The chances of miscarriages or pre-existing diseases were no longer even an idea. Everything was perfect. But what about me?

Where did I go? Well, I guess you could say that I was reborn. It was like the Lazarus Project, but this was different. No one knew the truth. No one knew that I was in fact, alive. I had a decision to make. I could try to find my old friends or I could start over and live a discrete life. I could assume a different identity. I could be someone else. I didn't need to be Commander Shepard anymore.

So who am I? Well, I was once Commander Artemis Jane Shepard, but now, I go by a different name.

That name is Lotus Sol . I found it to be a fitting name. It was a combination of a rebirth and a friend.

There was only one person who knew the truth. The only one I could never let live without knowing the truth. That person was Liara T'soni. The ShadowBroker. We had an understanding. She could live her life. I could live mine. We had no boundaries, no restrictions, no rules. We trusted each other. We knew neither would do anything to compromise the other. And that was how it was.

And all that was left was to remake my name and that is what I did.
