Her gaze darkens a bit, "Because I thought you hated me"

Hated her? Since when...? Oh-

"Yujin... we have a lot to talk about, but let me patch you up first, okay?" I ask, still eyeing the blood soaking through her sleeves.

She consents with just a nod and holds her arms out for me. I chuckle, looking at our position still, with her straddling me and it seems she forgot about it.

Grinning, I grab her waist and lift her gently off me, sitting her down on the cushion next to me.

"Yujin, where are your bandages and stuff?" I ask as I stand up and walk around the apartment.

"In my bedroom cabinet"

I nod and walk into what I guess is Yujin's room, and I'm correct. Everything is perfectly clean and organized, the only colors visible being a light beige and white. The only thing that seems out of place is the messy bed, and the fact that the blankets and pillows are laying everywhere.

Maybe I should clean this up for Yujin a bit?

I smile, I am such a good soulmate.

I walk towards the bed, rushing as I don't want her to see me playing around her room, and trip over something.

What the hell?

I look back and there's an empty knocked over trash can.

Except it isn't empty.

There's a used condom.

My heart freezes right there. Yujin doesn't have any other male friends... right? I know better than to believe she cheated on me, so I warily stare at it longer and longer. Confused and hurt.

Not because of jealousy, but because of my suspicions of what could've happened...

"Jungkook? What's taking you so long? Did you-"

Yujin freezes at the door as she sees me staring at the condom.

I examine her reaction as she widens her eyes in horror and starts to shake her head.

"J-Jungkook, it's uh- not what you think and I- um" Her voice starts to crack and her feet move backwards in horror.

Before she can walk farther, I rush to her and grab her elbows, staring into her eyes.

"Yujin... what is this?" I whisper.

She only seems to panic further and her lips tremble, "Y-You-uh- I promise I never cheated, I called for you a lot but then you blocked me off a-and..."

Guilt surges through me, "Yujin, I believe you, don't worry. I just need to know what happened. Please."

She calms down at that and looks at me before continuing, "My- uh- my dad, well he-"

That was all I needed to confirm my horrifying suspicions.

Just what has she had to go through all this time?

I sniffle and pull her into my embrace, "Let me get those bandages"

After an unbearable silence of both of us lost in our own thoughts, I've finally managed to cover up her wounds and cuts, which were both more than I initially thought. We sit side by side on the couch, arms touching as we clean up.

As I finish securing the last bandage on her arm, I lean down and place a gentle kiss on Yujin's knuckles. I hear her breath hitch.

I try my best to smile, despite the circumstances, and she seems to appreciate the effort, responding with a slight grin of her own.

"Jungkook, about my parents... how much did you find out?"

"All I could find. The news can only say so much"

She deflates a bit, "So you hate divorced soulmates?"

"Yeah, that's what society says at least... but I don't think like that anymore"

I think I see a new light in her eyes, "Why not?"

I pretend to think, teasing her, "Because I've met some amazing people with divorced soulmate parents"

"You think I'm amazing?"

I turn to face her and see her eyes twinkling in awe, her face so close that I can almost see every tiny detail I've never noticed before.

She also seems to notice how close our faces are, almost nose to nose, and doesn't make a move to pull back.

Neither do I.

I lick my lips and glance down at her open, plump, irresistible lips and find myself leaning in.

"Yeah, and beautiful..." I whisper, going closer with each word.

Her eyes are trained down to my lips and she puts a hand on her knee to steady herself.

I continue, "And you're strong, so unbelievably strong..."

"And perfect"

I close the gap between us and finally taste the lips I've been shamelessly dreaming about for weeks.
