"Kacchan not Katsuki"

this work was inspired by @chupotea on TikTok

In this one Kirishima and Kaminari get Deku to call Bakugou by his first name instead of 'Kacchan' for a day.

"Psst, Kiri!" Denki whispered, trying to get Kirishima's attention. Kirishima turned his head to look at him, slightly confused. "What is it?" He whispered back.

"I just had the best idea I've ever had in my entire life."

"That bars pretty low-" Kirishima said, Denki cutting him off, "shut up, just meet me after class." Kirishima chuckled a bit before replying, "ok, ok." He said before going back to paying attention to the lesson

After class, Denki caught up with Kirishima, "ok, Kiri, have you ever wondered what would happen if Midoriya called Bakubro by his real name?"

"...No?"

"We should make Midoriya call him by his real name."

"That's pretty genius." Kirishima said surprised, "I knowww. There he is, Midoriya, Hi!" Denki smiled, waving Midoriya over to the two. "Hey Man!"

"Did- did you guys need something?" Midoriya asked. "We have a little task to ask of you," Denki said, still smiling. "W-what is it?"

"Do you think you can call Bakugou by his real name? Just for- uh- the day, all of tomorrow?"

"Is that gonna help you guys with something?" Midoriya asked, slightly confused. "Oh, yeah, it'll help us lots." Denki grinned, "o-ok?" Midoriya said, still a little confused as he walked off.

The next day quickly came and Midoriya stumbled into the class in the morning, thankfully not late.

He walked over to his seat, Bakugou already sitting in his seat in front of him. "G-good morning K-Katsuki." Bakugou froze, slowly turning to face Midoriya, "what did you just say to me, nerd?" Midoriya looked slightly confused, "g-good morning?" He repeated. "Get out of my face, Deku," Bakugou growled, turning back to face the front.

After class Kirishima and Denki walked up to Bakugou, "hey Bakubro- Are you ok?" He asked. Bakugou averted his eyes, feeling like he would cry. "Yeah Shitty Hair, I'm fine!"

"Ok," Kirishima said, looking over to Denki, who was trying not to laugh. Bakugou walked off away from the two. Midoriya bumping into him, muttering incoherently. "Nerd, watch where you're going," Bakugou grumbled.

"S-sorry, Katsuki.."

"...hey!" Bakugou said, catching Midoriya off guard. "Yeah?" Midoriya replied. "The fucks your issue?"

"What- what do you mean Katsuki..?"

"Wh-" Bakugou huffed, trying to collect his words. "Meet me after school in my dorm room."

"Wha- Ka-" Midoriya gave up with a sigh, "alright.."

"And don't try to ghost me or I'll blow you up!" Bakugou growled. "Yeah, I got it."

After school Midoriya came late to the common room. "Took you long enough!" Bakugou said when he saw Midoriya come down the hall.

"I-I'm sorry Katsuki, I got held up with All Might and-" Bakugou cut Midoriya off before he could start rambling, "I don't care. What's your deal?"

"What do you mean?" Midoriya asked, confused. "Don't play fucking dumb with me, what's your deal?" Bakugou repeated. "I-I don't know what you mean, Katsuki-"

"That! That's what I fucking mean! Why are you calling me that?" He demanded. "Katsuki?" Midoriya asked, still confused, Bakugou averted his gaze. "B-because it's your name?"

"Are you playing smart with me, nerd!" He suddenly snapped. "Never," Midoriya flinched back slightly, "I- uhm- I'm sorry."

"You know what my fucking name is, Deku!"

"Y-yeah, uhm- I've been saying it-?"

"Kacchan, god damnit!" Bakugou's voice cracked slightly as he hit the wall, not hard enough to put a hole in it though, trying his best to keep the tears back. "I know I'm an ass to you but god damnit, what happened to Kacchan?"

Midoriya looked down, trying to hide the small smile that appeared.

"The fuck is that for?" Bakugou hissed.

"No reason." Midoriya breathed out, trying to hide the small smile.

"Tell me before I blow your ass up."

"Uhm-" Midoriya hesitated, averting his eyes. "I just think it's... cute, that you care about your nickname so much.." He explained quietly. "The only cute thing here is you.." Bakugou whispered. "Huh!?" Midoriya asked shocked, looking back up at Bakugou.

"You heard me.." He said quietly, whipping away the tears that had gathered in the corner of his eyes. Midoriya was speechless, trying to get his words together.

"Who are you?" Midoriya decided to go with, causing Bakugou to scoff, "shut up." Midoriya was at a loss for words and just simply smiled instead.

Kirishima walked down the hall and seen the two, "hey, Bakubro! I was wondering if you wanted to study together tonight.. Did I interrupt something?" He asked.

"Unfortunately, but it's too late to un-interrupt now isn't it Shitty Hair," Bakugou said annoyed.

Midoriya stayed quiet, a smile across his face.

"Why is Midoriya smiling like that?" Kirishima asked, smiling slightly as well. "I broke him," Bakugou said quietly.

The smile grew on Kirishima's face, "what did I miss?" He asked. "None of your business."

Midoriya began blushing, still not saying anything, the smile on his face only growing. "Is he gonna talk?" Kirishima asked, looking towards Bakugou. "No, I told you he's broken." Bakugou smiled softly, Kirishima's mouth dropped open, "did you just smile?"

The smile quickly left Bakugou's face, "no."

"Uhm- I think I'm gonna study with Kaminari tonight, so- see ya guy." Kirishima grinned, walking off. "Uhm- Kacchan?" Midoriya said once he found his voice again.

"Oh, look who's a functioning member of society again." Bakugou teased. "D- do you ha- do you like me, Kacchan?" Midoriya asked, slightly stumbling over his words, "what do you think." Bakugou muttered, playfully rolling his eyes. "Kacchan I dunno, that's why I'm asking you." Midoriya chuckled lightly.

Bakugou simply nodded in reply, "K-Kacchan, uhm- I-I like you too." Midoriya smiled. A small smiled appeared on Bakugou's face again, "yeah, I know, nerd."

Midoriya giggled, "stop fangirling, you nerd." Bakugou said fondly, clearly enjoying it. "Okay." Midoriya's voice squeaked, clearing his voice he repeated himself. "Okay."

Bakugou let out a small laugh. "You just keep surprising me," Midoriya said, completely blown away.

"So uhm- my plans just opened up for the night, do you wanna go out with me, Deku?" Bakugou asked. Midoriya smiled and nodded, "I'd love to."
