DR WHISPER

A mirror stood, right in the middle of an empty room, a room filled to capacity yet in reality so void. Like a window, it remained at the forefront of the room but the question was, why? It seemed as though Falcon Manor would become the mystery it was built to be afterall.
2001, Aaron is born into the Falcon name. His Father, Alexander Falcon was one of the major drug lords in the business and owned 89% of all outlets in the country. He made his mark at a young age of 17  for being the youngest drug dealer to be known publicly and has paved his way up the ladder ever since. His mother, Roseline Falcon, carried out the biggest solo heist in the history of Europe after looting 60 million Euros in 38 hours. She’s a legend, a legend in the criminal world. Together with Alexander, they were not just an absolutely perfect match for each other, they were also a formidable force to be reckoned with so in 1998, they got married and ruled the criminal world together. Their son Aaron, was born into criminal royalty and lived his life in luxury up until the day he discovered ‘the mirror room’. The largest room in the house with nothing in it, except the mirror.
Aaron being six years old now, begins to ask questions, questions that Alex and Rose don’t have answers to. Originally, Alex bought the mirror at an auction for $200 000 but shortly after, he started hearing strange noises coming from it So, He decided to lockup the mirror away in the far side of the right wing of the house. Aaron, discoverd the room during one of his many imaginary adventure games around the house and out of curiousity (which killed the cat BTW) made several attempts to unlock the door, until he finally succeeded. His expectations were instantly shattered as all that laid behind this heavily secured door that led to the largest room in his father's mansion was an ordinary mirror. He walked carefully over to his object of disapointment and examined it repeatedly, wondering why on earth such a small piece of furniture would need that level of security. Standing before the mirror,  and staring for several minutes, he heard a voice in his head say "Touch it! Touch it!!" So he reached forward and placed his finger against it. At that very moment he felt like he was falling head long from the 60th floor of a 75 storey building  even without moving an inch, and then everything went blank. He opened his eyes and found himself in a forest with the tallest of trees he could have ever imagined, so tall, that they gave him a glimpse into the everyday life and struggles of an ant. He walked around with nothing in sight for miles trying to find his way home, He shouted or at least tried to, over and over and over again, but his voice sounded like a tiny screech in a world of megaphones. He then heard a distant voice say “whisper”, so he did and he was louder than he  ever thought he could be. Suddenly he saw a tall wooden figure but he couldn’t make out a body not even bothering about a head; it was… “foggy”, to his best description. It walked towards him but for some reason he couldn't move, his feet seemed to be like that of a mouse in a glue trap and he couldn’t gather up enough strength to move out of the way. The figure halted right before him, bent on one knee, raised its dry crisped hands and touched his forehead. At that very moment it was like reality was restored.
He woke up the next day and the whole experience felt surreal as though it was some sort of dream. He immediately ran up to the room but it was locked again. He went about the rest of his day reliving the moments of what felt like a dream it his head, not even the arrival of nightfall could make him fall asleep. Hewasn't scared, he was just full of wonder. For a six-year-old he seemed to see the world with great understanding and a perfect blend of both of reality and fantasy, albeit the thin line of delineation between them. After a while, he dozed off but at exactly 2am Aaron jerked up from his sleep with so much force, you would think something pulled him. After quickly rubbing his eyes so he could see better, he noticed multiple footsteps appearing on the wooden floor, leading out of his room, down the hall and towards the mirror room. He followed the footsteps, afterall what's the worst that could happen? Getting to the door, he turned the knob and it was opened. The room was dark with a strong smell of burnt Cedar wood, and a foggy white color on the mirror. The footsteps came to a stop right in front of the mirror but he was too reluctant to move close to it until something or someone drew him closer. With each step he took, he got more hypnotised and the urge to know more sank deeper into him until he stepped in.
This time it was different, this time he didn’t fall, this time he felt intrigued as he was exposed to a new world. A world where time was irrelevant as everything stood still, a world that made his world pale in relevance. After looking around for some time he saw the creature again, it stretched out an arm and this time it fabricated into a human hand. Aaron took the hand and it pulled him aggressively into the depth of the forest but stopped when they got to a lake. It pointed into the lake, so he moved close to it and looked into the water, It was as clear as crystals and he obviously couldnt stop staring, after a while, he turned around and the creature was gone, so he just sat at the lakeside. What would feel like hours, was actually just a few minutes in reality and when he finally stood up, he heard yet another voice leading him towards two perfectly parallel trees, he then walked through them and found himself sitting on his bed.

Moments after, Aaron heard a noise downstairs and saw his fathers staff running, so he followed them down only to find out that his father was poisoned and had died. In shock, he ran up to the mirror room and goes into the mirror this time without hesitation. He didn’t know how to summon the creature so he just kept running until he tripped and passed out. He woke up at the crystal lake and saw the creature beside him, it turned to him and said “I am Doctor Whisper”, in a very calm tone. Aaron was completely speechless, he tried to make out words but couldn’t. Then it spoke again saying “Whisper child”, so he did and was able to speak, then he said “My father, he is dead”. The creature stood silently and this got Aaron annoyed so he began to scream, but everywhere was even more quiet than before as Aaron couldn’t even ear himself scream, so he kept quiet. The creature pointed towards the lake and when Aaron turned around, there his father stood above the water, he tried to run in but it held him back. At that moment Alexander descended into the water peacefully, as Aaron stood and watched in tears. He turned towards the creature, it touched his head and pushed him towards the river, there he began to see hundreds of souls rising from the lake into the horizon and then everything went dark, he opened his eyes and there he was on his bed again. He tried to move but all attempts were futile, then slowly, the world faded into black as he died. Rose came into his room to comfort him in respect to his father’s death but found him on his bed in a pool of his own blood with bloody footsteps that led up to mirror room. She screamed and ran to him and did all she could but her son was never coming back…
