It was almost dawn as I stood in the kitchen, preparing breakfast for everyone. I had to think outside the box a little for Luz. Didn't know if she could eat everything here. A loud commotion caught my attention from upstairs; I think Luz was awake. "It wasn't a dream! Good morning, terrifying fantasy world!" I smiled at her enthusiasm before continuing making our food and pouring apple blood. I heard the bathroom door open and then a scream. Hooty must have surprised Luz. "I'm just wishing you a good morning! Geez! Hoot. Ow!" "Sorry Hooty." Lux apologized. I chuckled to myself,  Hooty needed to learn to not the enter the bathroom when someone was in there.

I heard Eda come down the stairs, followed by Luz. "Remember me, Luz. We freed the oppressed and defeated the evil warden together. Yesterday!" She looked worried but Eda just ignored her, she was such a grump in the morning. I wordlessly handed Eda, her mug of apple blood and set King's food before him. "Good morning Luz." I said with a smile and the human smiled back at me. Eda gave Luz a blank look. "Kid, lay off the details. I haven't even had my cup of apple blood yet." "Eda!" I said, giving her a look. Luz looked confused. "You mean...apple juice?" "No." Came the blank reply. I walked over to Luz and handed her a plate of blue pancakes. "I hope these turned out alright, Luz. Please ignore the blue color." She drooled at the sight of the pancakes before taking a bite. Her eyes went wide. "Oh my gosh! These are so good!" She said while practically inhaling the pancakes. I handed Eda a plate with blue pancakes as well.

When Luz finished eating, she looked at us excitedly. "Teach me some spells! When do I get a magic staff?! I was supposed to bring my own runes?" She began with the questions before gasping and looking at us excitedly. "Do you have a dangerous magical quest for me?!" She looked very excited, while Eda just looked startled. "Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Slow down kid. Being a witch doesn't happen overnight." Eda began to explain and I nodded in agreement. "Also, you're wearing a bathrobe and the dirtiest traffic cone I've ever seen." Eda pointed out. Luz removed the object from head and King started laughing at but quickly shut up from my glare. "But a magic staff, huh? You really want one?" Eda said with a smirk before looking at me and I just rolled my eyes at her antics. "More than anything!" Luz answered. Eda held out her hand. "Magic staff! Come to me!" A series of crashing sounds and things breaking could be heard as Eda summoned Owlbert. I sighed, knowing I'd have to clean up later.

Owlberlt floated towards Eda but instead of catching him, he smacked Eda in the face, making me snicker. "It's early." Eda said. Luz looked at me. "Where's yours?" She asked me and I smiled before Monarch shimmered next to me. "Now! Witches are awarded their staves from school. With us as your teachers, you'll be taking a different approach." Eda began before dropping a bag filled with potions we had brewed. "You'll have to work for it." I walked beside Eda into the main area id the house. "Kaia and I run a few businesses. On weekends I offer rare human treasures that Owlbert drags over from your side of the realm." She explained as she grabbed a human toy sword. "And I work in a healer's clinic." I explained and Eda nodded. "But most days we sell only the finest homemade elixirs and potions." Eda said. Luz looked through the back she was given. "Snake oil?" She questioned. "No one wants an unoiled snake." Eda explained. "Now follow me." Eda headed towards the balcony. "Today, you'll deliver packages and sell potions to that town over there, Bones Burrow." Eda pointed to Bones Burrow in the distance. "You'll have to be careful. We have rivals everywhere, who'd love take our business down and you along with it." "Also because Bones Burrow can dangerous on its own." I said while given Eda look, she just shrugged at me before looking back at Luz. "You wanted a dangerous magical quest. Sister, you've got one." Eda finished and Luz looked at us determined. "I won't let you down." As she said this, she accidently dropped the bag filled with potions from the balcony. "I'm sure." Eda said sarcasticly.

Eda began pushing Luz out the door. "Remember! Never befriend a man in sandals and always measure twice and cut once." Eda explained but Luz just looked confused. I gave her a small notebook. "Here, this might help." Luz looked grateful. "Thanks, Kaia." "Good luck." Eda said before closing the door before looking at King who taking a nap. "Hate to interrupt your power nap but you have to go with her." "What?! But I just found the perfect spot. Why do I have to go?" King protested and Eda gave him a look. "We all know that she's either going to get lost or eaten...or both." Eda said. "No, I won't!" Luz said from the window. Eda quickly closed the curtain. "And because you work for us. Unless you want to start paying rent?" Eda said, giving the small demon a look. "Please King." I asked. King made a protesting sound but went anyway, making me smile and Eda smirk. "Be back by nightfall or risk mortal peril." She said that way too cheerfully. "Have a nice trip!" Hooty said. "Let's get this over with." King said before walking off with Luz.
