And there it was, the answer Oikawa had longed for, was right there, staring daggers into him. The words replayed themselves in his mind as he slowly started to process the meaning behind them. Tobio, a volleyball prodigy, the most hard-headed and hard-working guy Oikawa had ever met. The one person who could motivate Oikawa to push himself to his limits. The one person who Oikawa thought was perfect...had just broken right in front of him.

No words could be used to describe Oikawa's mental state when he finally realized Kageyama needed help. Oikawa sprinted throughout his house grabbing his shoes and a light jacket before tripping out the door. His hair was messy and his shoes weren't even properly on, but that didn't stop him from running to Kageyama.

For Oikawa, it was almost ironic, he always figuratively thought he would have to chase Kageyama but never could he have imagined that he would be actually chasing him, especially not for a situation like this.

Oikawa had their whole love story planned out, they'd both grow up and become amazing volleyball players just to meet again as new people and fall in love on the court. For Oikawa, the thought alone was enough for him, he often found himself subconsciously smiling whenever he'd think of his little kohai. But right now was not the time for silly daydreams or unrealistic crushes. Someone he cared about was hurting and Oikawa knew he needed to help them.

As soon as he reached the park he spotted Kageyama, he was sprawled out on the ground. Clutching to the nearby grass as he hyperventilated, traces of dried tears adorned his face as thick drops of sweat ran down the nape of his neck. The sight alone made Oiwaka's heart drop as a lump immediately formed in his throat. His picture-perfect idea of Kageyama was shattered in an instant, Kageyama was almost unrecognizable. He looked unresponsive and drained. There was no life left in his eyes. His eyes that always shined and radiated elegance and confidence were reduced to dark orbs that reflected nothing.

"Tobio! Hey, I'm here okay, everything is gonna be okay. You just need to breathe okay, please" Oikawa calmly said as he slowly stroked Kageyama back, being careful to keep his tone soft and warming as not to scare his kohai. He slowly tried to move him off the ground, the way he touched Kageyama was calculated and soft almost as if he feared he'd break him more if he touched or spoke incorrectly.

"Oi- oi- kawa, is is that y-you?" Hiccuped Tobio, barely being able to form a sentence without stuttering or choking on his own tears.

"Shh, don't talk okay, just breathe with me please," said Oikawa, as he slowly shifted Kageyama so his head rested on the older's chest. As soon as Kageyama's head fell on his chest Tobio immediately clung to Oikawa, pushing himself closer to Oikawa's warmth, ignoring the way Oikawa tensed from his action.

This should have been a happy moment for Oikawa, after all, his long-time crush was in his arms, not Hinata's. Kageyama was being vulnerable in front of him, not Hinata. But the moment couldn't be a happy one, as the longer Kageyama clung to him the more and more coarse sobs escaped the younger's lips. Drenching the older's shirt within meer seconds.

Oikawa pushed aside his gay panic and focused on making sure Tobio could feel his breathing. Oikawa deeply inhaled and exhaled letting his chest rise and fall with Kageyama laying on it. The gently rocking slowly taking effect on the younger as his loud sobs slowly turned to whimpers and sniffles.

"Oikawa-san, I, I'm sorry I shouldn't have texted you. I was just panicking and I texted you without thinking please forgive me" Kageyama whispered leaning closer into Oikawa as he spoke hoping the older wouldn't be able to fully hear him as he rubbed his face onto his chest.

However, much to Kageyama's dismay, Oikawa had heard every single word. Letting the words replay in his mind like a lullaby. To many the words, Kageyama spoke would simply be dismissed as nothing but a half-assed apology but for Oikawa it proved something. It proved that he was the person Kageyama trusted most. He called him, not anyone from Karasuno or any other nearby schools. Kageyama called him.

"Tobio-chan, please don't apologize. I'm glad you called me. I fear what you would have done if you were alone...but please tell me the truth...a cheater wouldn't react like this."
