AN: THERE'S A CERTAIN WHITE PERSON READING THIS THAT I'M SAYING HI TO AND LOOOOOOK IT'S THE CHARACTER YOU INSPIRED-------> Avril on the side :)

The week couldn’t have gone by quicker and before I knew it, it was Thursday; A day before my first ever high school party. Devin was his usual stick-up-his-butt self and Ryder had increased the PDA by tenfold. We were making out in the hallways, in the cafeteria, during class, after class, before class, against the lockers, in the parking lot, in his car, on his car. I was beginning to question if I spent more time kissing him than actually learning anything at school.

This caused Devin to send me icy stares Every. Fucking. Time. We passed each other in the halls.  I didn’t know why he was getting all butthurt about it, it’s not like he liked me…or maybe he did? The thought sent a rush of excitement through me as I walked to my locker. Maybe that’s why he detested the idea of me and Ryder together! Because he liked me. A wide grin spread across my face and I felt the urge to bound and leap across the hallways singing. There was a slight skip in my step and I felt extra cheery at the thought of Devin liking me.

That was, until I saw him pressing my sister against his locker. They were tangled together in a fierce clash of tongues. Of course Ryder and I had more than our fair share of intense make out sessions but watching Devin kiss my sister was just a whole other thing. He was so rough and passionate in the way he touched and held her, making her squirm against the locker. They hardly broke away for air and when he caught me staring from the side of his eye, he smirked and kissed her harder. I tore my gaze from the two and dully made my way to my locker. I tried to hurry myself up and quickly retrieve my books before Diya could notice, but alas, luck was not on my side.

I had just slammed my locker shut when the pair broke apart breathlessly staring at each other. I thought this was my opportunity to slip away but Diya caught my arm and grinned at me.

“Hey, big sis.” She giggled as Devin wrapped an arm around her waist.

“H-hey little sis.” I mumbled grumpily. I shouldn’t have been mad; Ryder was my boyfriend, not Devin.

“So guess what?”

“What?” I asked locking gazes with Devin. The corners of his lips were slightly upturned and I could tell he was trying to hold in a smirk.

“You’re not the only one with a boyfriend.” She sang clinging onto Devin’s arm.

“Wait, you’re dating Gupta?” I asked feigning confusion. Gupta was some loser my Father was planning on setting Diya up with when she turned 18. Lucky for me, he wanted me to focus on studying more so he hadn’t arranged any surprise dates yet.

“No, stupid, I’m dating Devin.” She giggled.

I knew it before she said it, but the fact that she said it made it more real. I felt my stomach plummet and a feeling of nausea passed through me. I didn’t want to react this badly to it, but I did. Before I could involuntarily do something stupid, I burst out laughing. When I say laughing, I mean full blown cackling, like a witch with hyenas shoved down her oesophagus. I then felt the need to start clapping and patting my knees and snorting as I laughed…not one of my finest moments. When I finally gathered the sanity to quit it, there were tears in my eyes and I was panting.

My sister gave me a weird look and Devin looked away trying to supress his laughter. When I had finally recollected myself I gave my sister the realest fake smile I could muster and winked.

“Well done, Dee, but good luck. Devin isn’t necessarily the most…easiest person to talk to.”

Just then I felt two strong sturdy arms wrap around my waist and a head resting on my shoulder. I smelt Ryder’s familiar minty breath and over-the-top cologne as he kissed my cheek and I blushed. Devin noticeably tensed and his eyes narrowed as he stared down at Ryder and me.
