Jax looked around the room, her expression neutral. This isn't the first time this happened, over the last few weeks she's been getting these sorts of dreams, being locked in a dark room alone with a lone table and chair in the middle. However, this time it was different, instead of one chair, it was two, and instead of Jax being alone, someone was sitting there motionless with their hands on their stomach, slouching in the chair. She crept around the person slowly, confused about what was going on.
"Hello? Who are you?" She asked as politely as she could, still confused as to why this person was in her dreams.
"I could ask you the same thing." It was a guy, she realized. His voice was deep and smooth with a bit of a British accent, though there was a twinge of annoyance and confusion in his tone.
"Excuse me? You do realize you're in my dream right?" She said, her tone similar to his. She crossed her arms. She was planning on being kind to this intruder, however, it seemed he had other plans.
"Your dream? This is mine," He finally looked over to her. He was handsome, with dark skin and pretty brown eyes, she would have swooned if it wasn't for his attitude. "Now leave, you're not wanted here." He scoffed and returned to his former position.
Jax smiled internally, she had dealt with people like him before. Believing that they were above her for no reason. To her, this guy was nothing. She smiled and walked to the vacant seat. When she sat down she looked over at the young man, observing him. He was beautiful, with his dreadlocks being down to his shoulders, she could tell he took pride in his hair. Jax fell into a trance, not noticing when the man had finally looked up and looked at Jax.
"You gonna keep staring?" He asked, slightly smirking. His voice broke her out of her trance, blushing once she realized she was staring at him.
"Sorry, I got distracted." She looked away from him and looked at the floor, too embarrassed to look him in the eyes. He stayed silent for a few moments before speaking. "It's okay, it happens sometimes." The man said, looking at Jax with an unknown expression on his face. "Yeah..." It went silent after that, the tension being so thick even Stevie Wonders could see it.
"So, what's your name?" Jax asked, hoping to relive some of the tension in the room.
"Why should I tell you? I don't know you." His cocky attitude was back, Jax sighed in her head, wishing that she had just stayed silent.
"I'll tell to my name if you tell me yours." Jax leaned back in her seat, staring at him, hoping he would take the bait.
"Not interested." His reply was short and sweet. Well, as sweet as this guy could get. Jax groaned and slammed her forehead on the metal table, groaning in pain when a sharp pain erupted on her forehead. She shot up, feeling her forehead.
"What? Did that smash help you acquire some brain cells?" He laid his head on his arm, staring at her.
"We're in a dream right?" She asked, ignoring the rude comment.
"I would think so, why?" He leaned forward, seeming a little interested in what she had to say.
"If we're in a dream, then why did it hurt when I slammed my head?" She looked confused, unconsciously copying the man's movement, leaning forward to look at him.
He looked just as confused as she did. He leaned back and pinched himself, hissing when a sharp pain erupted on his arm.
"What the fuck? It's like we're not even dreaming." He said to Jax, looking at her from across the table.
"How did I not notice it before? You would think it wouldn't be hard to find out." She leaned her head back, groaning.
He started to laugh before noticing her left hand started to disappear and turn into smoke.
He leaned across the table and whispered. "I don't mean to alarm you, but you're dying."
She jumped up and felt a tingling sensation on her hand, seeing her hand slowly disappearing. She groaned. "Idiot, it just means I'm waking up." She rolled her eyes, annoyed by his ignorance.
"Well, how was I supposed to know that!" He asked, throwing his hands in the air.
"Is this your first time here or something?" She asked, glaring at him. He didn't answer and looked away, she groaned. This just ruined her day. The smoke was on her stomach, slowly moving up.
"Finally I can wake up, I hate being here!" She titled her head back, smiling.
He looked at her and took a deep breath. "My name is Dane." He whispered quickly.
She looked over at him. "What did you say?" The sparkles were around her neck now.
"My name is Dane." He repeated louder.
Jax smiled. "That's a nice name Dane, my name is Jax." As she said that the smoke fully consumed her, leaving Dane Green alone once again.
