Elaine's P.O.V

We had finally made our way into New York. While riding the tour bus, the sparkling lights shined through the tinted windows. People watching was a favorite thing of mine. I've done it ever since my mother told me I should try it. She said it was a learning experience. I believed it too. I noticed every little detail of even the most hidden people. The homeless men carrying "The end is near" signs, the parents keeping a tight grip on their curious children, the fashionistas, the hipsters. It was all a really cool vibe here.

I cranked up "Arms" a bit higher on my iphone. Looking out the window, the song, the whole ride was literally a scene right out of a romance movie. All I needed was my love interest. I looked around the dimmed bus. It was around three A.M. so I didn't expect anyone to be awake. Although Valerie was watching a horror movie with Zayn in the back of the bus.

Harry was checking messages on his phone while the rest of the boys slept. Getting as much sleep as they could for the show tomorrow night. Or tonight I should say. He looked up and noticed I was all alone.

"Can't sleep huh?" he asked. I understood he was concerned. He always worried about my lack of sleep. Although I had mentioned many times that I was a night owl. I sometimes liked the lack of company. I liked being able to think without anything bothering me. Although I loved hearing things such as laughter and singing, I needed my own time.

"No" I said in a semi whisper while curving the corner of my lips into a slight smile. He sighed, and sat next to me. I rested my head on his broad shoulder. The warmth in his body instantly had me craving one of his comforting hugs. "Harry?" I questioned. He looked at me. His silk like hair slightly covering his eyes.

"Yeah?" he asked back.

"Have you ever thought of what you'll do in the future?" I wondered. I could tell he was a bit caught off by my utterly off topic question. Although it seemed as if his answer came quite quick.

"I just hope to be happy." was his response. The words he spoke made it clear his goal was to simply enjoy life. "That's all" he added. He smiled once before turning to me.

I felt his green eyes sinking into me. The atmosphere became a bit softer. Like plush clouds, or cotton candy. The warmth I felt as he smiled made my insides all fuzzy. Wait.. what on earth? I felt my eyes widen as I pulled away from Harry.

"Is everything all right?" he asked in a worried manner. Although everything was far from alright. It couldn't be happening. I was slightly falling for my best guy friend. Harry. I began to have feelings for Harry.

I didn't put much thought into until now. Being a night owl must have its benefits. I just realized something quite off. I couldn't be possibly falling for him. He and I. Sure we've been close since the beginning. He helped me get over Josh. But he and I isn't something I can take seriously. For a faint second it felt as if I had a lack of breath. Hard to breath.

"Everything's fine" I lied. I lied while pulling the best fake smile I could. He wasn't convinced. I'm sure of it by his facial expression. His eyebrows furrowed while looking even deeper onto me. I felt my pulse pick up. His lips pressed hard onto each other as if he tried to figure it all out.

"Your lying" he said. He uncovered it. "I can tell" he said in a serious tone. "What's going on?" he asked while moving a strand of hair from my face. It was a small piece of lost hair, although I saw him much clearer. I saw the boy who took my mind off of everything wrong in my life. The suffocation I felt was long gone. It was easier to breath seeing him this way. The glimmer from the outside lights had his skin a soft shade of amber. Then the though of it all came to me again.
