It was Marco. How did he find me? He looked over at me and smiled. I turned around to find Jake was gone. I sighed. "Hey Look I'm sorry. " He said while getting up. I looked down at my feet. "Will you please just look at me?" He asked. I just kept looking at the floor. He put his fingers under my chin and made me look at him. "Why are you here?" I asked quietly. "To apologize to you. I was a jerk to you on those mountains. These past couple of days, I couldn't stop thinking about you. The minute I left the hospital, I was falling apart without you. I kept thinking about you and the way I treated you. I shouldn't have yelled at you. I'm sorry. Just, please, forgive me?" He asked. I looked into his eyes. I saw truth in his eyes. There were tear stains on his cheek, and he had bags under his eyes. He looked horrible. Was I the cause of this? "I forgive you." I said. His eyes lit up. "Really?!" He exclaimed. "Yes." I told him. He grabbed me and pulled me into a bone crushing hug. When he pulled away, he looked me in the eyes. He started to lean in. I stood there not knowing what he was going to do. He kissed my cheek. I blushed. When he pulled away, he saw me blush. "Awe look who's blushing." He smirked. "Shut up." I said embarrassed. I looked down at my feet. Mrs. Kendra walked in. "Oh Samantha, have the girls shown you around the cabin yet?" She asked me. "No, not yet." I told her. She sighed and mumbled something. "Jessica, Stacy, Get down here and show Samantha around!" She yelled. Just then two thuds came from the stairway. Stacy and Jessica fell from the hallway. Where they spying on us? "Where you eavesdropping on their conversation?" Mrs Kendra asked. "What, no." Stacy said in a high pitched voice. "I'm very disappointed in you girls! We will discuss you punishment later! But for now, you have to show Samantha around!" Mrs. Kendra yelled. She walked out of the room. Stacy and Jessica got up and walked down the set of stairs. "This is the living room." Stacy said once she finished walking down the stairs. Jessica started walking down a hallway to the left of the living room. "This is the bathroom." Stacy said pointing to the first door on the left. "This is the storage room." Said Jessica pointing to the first door on the right. Stacy walked back into the living room and stood next to the door. "This is the kitchen." Stacy said as walking threw the door. When we walked in, in smelt like soup. Mrs. Kendra was standing next an oven. She was chopping up vegetables. We kept on walking until a we met a staircase. "This will lead you to the dinning room, and to the room that we learn." Jessica said. We followed her up the stairs and when we got to the top, their was a beautiful view of Colorado Springs. "Wow. " Was all I could manage to say. There was a giant table in the middle of the room. There were plates set up. "And in that room over there is where we learn. " Stacy said. "What do you guys learn?" I asked them. I walked over to the room and saw a rug on the floor, a white bored on the wall, and 3 tables with paper and books. "We are home schooled during Monday through Friday, 3 hours a day. Then on Saturdays we do arts and crafts for 1 hour, and on Sunday we go to church down town. " Jessica told me. "Wow, sounds like a busy week." I told her. "Ya, it always goes by so fast though." Stacy told us. "How does an orphanage get so much money to afford this?" Marco asked. "The state of Colorado made a deal with the government. They will build 3 nice, large, orphanages if, the state of Colorado doesn't ask for more." Jessica told him. "Wow cool." Said Marco. "Dinner is ready!" Mrs Kendra yelled. We all sat at the table. A few minutes later, boys and girls ran into the room and sat at the table. Mrs. Kendra came in last. She was caring a big pot of something. She sat the pot at the end of the table. "Okay so since Samantha is new here, why don't we have somebody tell her the dinner table rules." She said. Several people raised their hands. "Chloe, why don't you tell her the rules. Everybody turned their heads to a little blonde headed girl that was sitting on the other side of the table from me. "We do not eat until we pray. We also don't talk unless we raise our hands. And during dinner, we all have to say how our day went. We are only aloud one serving, Unless, we work for it." Said Chloe. "Thank you Chloe. Now who would like to pray for us?" Mrs. Kendra asked. Once again, several people raised their hands. "Jack, why don't you pray for us." Mrs, Kendra said. Everybody went silent. I closed my eyes and folded my arms. "Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you for giving us this wonderful place to be and another chance for a family. Amen" prayed jack. Everyone said Amen and started eating.
