Its the beginning of summer and Liz is not one to fratinize with. "Mom, I don't understand why we have to move here. I'm perfectly fine."I said. "Liz, coming home crying everyday after school isn't an exact match for fine." My Mom is moving us too a small town in California because she thought I was "depressed" living in Ohio. But I'm not I'm fine. I mean ya I've been upset for a while but its not such a big thing where we have to leave the country. We finally made it to California, its so nice here but I still really miss Ohio. Ohio is where my family was. Until my dad left us when I was 6 then it was just me and my mom on our own. My grandparents had died when I was 2. The only real grandparents I had where my moms aunt and uncle. But they never came around to visit after my dad left us. No one did. Summer is just starting and I'm gonna take the chance to meet new people before school starts. I decided yo go for a walk around my new neighborhood while my mother upacks some stuff. I said hi to a few people around my block but they didn't seem to hear me. I went home and read in my room for a while. It seems like I was in there forever. My mom called me down for dinner. We are having Chinese, " Chinese again? Will we ever eat something else?". I ate then went back to my room. I started unpacking pictures to put on a shelf. I came across a picture of my dad and I. I miss him so much. I never really understood why he left me and my mother. I felt like at any second I would brake out crying but I tried to hold it in. I just decided to go to bed early. Maybe sleep will help get rid of this pain. The next morning I went to the beach. There were a lot of people there. A few actually said hi back when I said hi to them. Things are turning around finally. Its July now, I only have a few friends. At least that's better than only having one. Life has gotten a little easier since we've moved here. My mom started work today. My mom is a marine bioligest. So she works a lot, I'll have the house all to myself today so I'm just gonna eat ice cream and watch movies on Netflix. We have mostly everything unpacked but there are still a few boxes. I started unpackings some boxes in the living room. The first thing I grabbed in the box was a family picture. All of those memories from that day are coming back. A single tear comes down my cheek but I wipe it away as quick as I could when I heard someone knock on the door. It was my friend eli. He came to see if I wanted to go hang out with him and a couple other people today. I went with him but when we got there it wasn't as fun as I thought it would be.
