(JACKIE'S POV)
It had been almost a month since Ryan and I 'made up.' For the past 2 weeks we have been living off FaceTime calls and text messages. Throughout the day wasn't that bad, I was always busy doing online work, but nights were hard. I don't know, something about having someone right beside you all night long for 5 years and then them not being there for a while is difficult. As much as I love tour, I'm counting the minutes until Ryan and Ben are in the studio again. I set up my office in my basement and even after my little baby is born, I won't have to leave her with someone else while I work. I decorated the office today and did a little work answering emails. I was bored, I missed tour a lot. The time was 6:45 and and I knew that it was almost 3 am in London , I needed Ryan's voice but o was afraid it was too late to call. When we were on tour the last time, we giggled and cuddled after the shows and drifted in the early morning hours. I decided to text him, I didn't call to avoid waking up the bus.
To Ryan:
These sleepless nights are hard, only 1 more week......
Ryan was probably tired and so I didn't worry much. I drifted off on the couch, the sound of the dog barking woke me up. I woke up at about 10 til 6 and I decided a morning run by the shore sounded nice. I grabbed my phone and put on some running clothes and took off. Ryan called me at 8.
"Good morning"
"You're only 2 hours late but good afternoon"
"Early morning huh?"
"Yeah, I decided a nice run on the shore sounded good so I'm jogging."
"That sounds fun."
"You hate running."
"I didn't specify, fun for some people."
"Have you started missing me yet?"
"The minute I left I started missing you."
"Only 7 days!"
I Try to say 7 days as if it's not a long time but it's forever
"It's like a month in dog years"
Leave it to Ryan to make the time seem longer. I laughed even though I didn't think he was funny.
"how was the show last night, the time differences are so messed up its hard to ever call and talk to you."
"Yeah, I'll be happy when I can talk to you face to face and touch the baby bump! Oh and the show was great."
"That's good. I'm planning to Go out with some friends for lunch. It's yucky here so we might go to Kelly's house and cook together."
"Kelly?"
"You know kelly, blonde kind of short."
"Yeah. Yeah, I know her. Be safe babe."
he is always so protective of me. I tried to be protective of him but I didn't want to be over bearing, but I didn't want Ryan's tongue down Ashley's throat either.
"Ryan?"
"Yeah sweetie?"
I heard someone yelling in the background.
"Babe I'm so sorry, I'll call you tonight before I go to bed, I love you."
"Yeah, I love you too."
Call ended.
I had been working up the courage to ask him a long time but I wanted to move the wedding up. We don't have a date, to be honest after we found out about the baby the thought just our mind. Yesterday in the market place, I found a cool little tent and I fell in love with it. I walked up to the lady and she said
"aww first baby?"
I smiled and replied to her and she started talking about babies and marriage.
"I bet you and your husband are overjoyed."
"Yeah, my fiancé and I are really excited."
"Planning a wedding and having baby, that must be stressful."
"We are putting the wedding to side for now. It's not like I could ever fit into a dress."
I smiled and continued to look around. The small shack was filled with long flows jewelry and gorgeous dresses.
The lady was rummaging through a Rubbermaid storage container when she pulled out a gorgeous dress.
"Hey honey, how many weeks are you?"
I turned around and smiled.
"Almost 25."
"Can I ask you something?"
"I guess."
I didn't know this lady and she was really interested in me.
"I know you don't know me, I'm sorry to be into your business if I'm over bearing just tell me to stop. But is the only reason you aren't having a wedding because you can't find a dress?"
"And stress. My husband works a lot out of time and we don't have time to plan."
She held up the dress. It was off-white and had a long flowing train. It had straps that went around the back of the neck and had flower lace on them.
"If I was you I would have my wedding as soon as I could. If you're 25 weeks your baby isn't coming until June or July. I would have a spring beach wedding. they make maternity wedding dresses and you would look gorgeous. I plan weddings on the side. And I'm totally bombarding you aren't I?"
I was a bit overwhelmed by all of the what the lady had said. A beach wedding would be gorgeous, our baby would be born into the world as lewis, win win for everyone. It was worth a shot. The lady gave me a friendly hug and her card and I was on my way. I studied the card as I walked to Starbucks. I pulled up her website on my phone as I sipped on my coffee. Her stuff was incredible, I would love to get married on the beach. Simple, no stress wedding before the baby, I was totally excited. I was almost positive that I would be stopping by her shop soon. When Ryan called me I was about to tell him but then he had to go. I finished my run and went home. I jumped in the shower and got all ready. I sat down on the couch and turned on some TV. The doorbell rang and so I walked quietly and creeped to the door peep hole. It was a mailman holding a dozen roses and a box. I opened the door.
"Hi uh are you.... Jackie?"
He glanced down at his paper and had a bit of trouble reading and saying my name at the same time.
"I am."
"Can you sign here?"
He held out his pen and i grabbed it. I signed and he gave me my things and left. I walked to the kitchen and put my roses in a vase and sat down to open the box. Inside was a bracelet with grey pearls and purple stones. Inside was a little note.
"Roses are red
Violets are blue
I miss you
This is a Ryan Lewis original poem just for you"
I smiled and took a picture of my bracket and roses and posted it.
'I have the best fiance ever, (He's a poet too!)'
Ryan called me before I went out with my friends.
"Hey babe, I'm sorry. I had a show."
"I love Ryan Lewis original poem's Im almost positive I need those more often."
He giggled and I was almost positive that he was smiling on the other end of the phone.
"I want to ask you about possibly moving our date."
"We can't decide that, she's coming when she is ready"
" I meant our wedding, genius. I met a lady and she talked about having a beach wedding. Non stressful and fun before the baby. It's just a thought."
"Sound great to me. Just family and friends. Im down with that."
My friend Leah was calling and beeping in.
"Leah is calling and I have to talk to her. I'm sorry. I'll text you babe. I love you cutie, oh and by the way my live my bracelet."
He hung up and I answered Leah.
"Where are you? Kelly is cooking and we are playing board games! Hurry over."
I drove over to Kelly's but my eyes were constantly glued to my screen. I couldn't stay away from Ryan's texts.
