It was 6 AM when the alarm clock began to ring. Ventus felt around him, grabbed a shoe, and threw it at the alarm clock, missing it’s target. Groaning, Ventus stood up and shut the alarm clock off. “Great, another stupid morning.”, Ventus said, as he was not a morning person. Stumbling, he went to the bathroom to shower. When he was finished, he began to dry his hair. After that, he tried brushing his teeth, when he noticed he was almost out of toothpaste. “Huh, i’m gonna need to buy some toothpaste today.”, Ventus mumbled to himself. He dressed himself, and groggily went downstairs. “Morning, mom.”, Ventus said to his mother. “Good morning, dear. Did you sleep well?”, she asked from the living room. “Could’ve been better.”, Ventus replied, as he started making himself a sandwich. “Dear, you should hurry up, school’s going to start soon.”, his mom said. “Yeah, i know. Just let me finish my sandwich.”, Ventus said, while munching on his sandwich. When he finished it, he grabbed his bag and put on his coat. “See you later, mom!”, Ventus said, as he walked out the door. Ventus was a lucky kid, as he lived in one of the richer areas of Methold. Because of this, his parents could also afford to send him to a relatively good school. He attended Agronaut High school. It was a 15 minute walk from his house to his school. On the way, he encountered his friend Eric. “Hey Ventus! Ready for another day of school?”, Eric asked. “Well, I would’ve appreciated a few more hours of sleep, at least another half would have been good.”, Ventus replied, grumbling. “You should just go to bed earlier. How late do you go to sleep? 11 PM?” Eric asked. “That doesn’t matter! We should hurry up, school’s gonna start soon.”, Ventus said, trying to change the subject. There was a silence for a few minutes, and they arrived. “Wait, what’s our first subject? I don’t remember it, so i have no idea where to go.”, Ventus said to Eric. “I think it was Art and Design…” Eric said, as he and Ventus prepared for a long day of school.
A few hours later, school finally ended. “Man, I’m beat! That PE lesson was literally hell on Stabilos, don’t you think so?”, Eric asked Ventus. “Oh, did you say something?” Ventus asked, who was half asleep. “What, was it so hard for you, you actually fell asleep?” Eric asked surprised. “No, it was so easy it’s boring. Well, I got somewhere to go, so i’ll see you tomorrow!”, Ventus said, as he started walking to his house. “See ya!” Eric said, as he went to his own house. When Ventus came home, he walked as silent as possible to his room. Once there, he pulled a box from underneath his bed. In there, there was a black jumpsuit, a cloak, and an helmet with advanced technology inside. This was something that Ventus definitely didn’t want his mother to find out, as this was the disguise he wore when he went to the fighting tournaments. His mom would kill him if she found out he went to the UDSFT (Underground Duel Station Fighting Tournament), the most cruelest tournament in Methold. Ventus secretly participated in these tournaments, in order to earn enough money to live in Class B. These kind of tournaments were officially forbidden by the law in Methold, but laws don’t exist in the dark underground of methold. They have only one law: The strong survive, and the weak die. The underground is a cruel place. It isn’t uncommon for people to die in the tournaments. You need to be strong to survive here, and Ventus trained long to be able to compete here. In the underground, Ventus’ Alias was a legend. He went by the name Braxton, and was supposedly the strongest person in the underground. And today, the 20 strongest fighters in the underground gathered together for the preliminaries. Only ten would go to the actual tournament. The referee spoke to the contestants and the spectators. “Ladies and Gentlemen! Thank you for coming to the annual Underground Duel Station Fighting Tournament! We have some very special participators this year! First of all, rising quickly in power, Braxton! He suddenly appeared 2 months ago, but has already conquered half of the Catacus District! Next, the fearsome warrior team, Camino....”. Some time later he finished talking about every participator and the preliminaries could begin. The first fight was The Beast against Braxton. The Beast was a very muscular guy with yellow shorts and a bare chest. He was an ex-soldier who started boxing. The public was intimidated by him, but Braxton looked The beast straight in the eyes, his face emotionless as always. The bell rang, and the referee shouted: “Let the fight… begin!”. The fight began, and the beast charged forward, shouting: “You little punk, i’ll finish you in one hit!”. Braxton warded him off easily. Braxton lured The Beast to the middle of the ring. “Dammit, you little shit! stay still so i can hit you!”, The Beast shouted, panting heavily. Braxton didn’t stay still at all, and started his counter attack. He dashed forward, and using his weight as a boost, punched The Beast in his stomach. The impact was so great, The Beast was thrown out of the ring, causing an instant KO. Braxton had won this round. He walked up to The Beast, who was laying on the ground from the pain. “A weakling like you, should stay out of the ring.”, Braxton said in a threatening tone. He turned around and left to prepare for his second fight. He survived the first round; now it was time for the second one.
