MYOUI MINA'S POINT OF VIEW

Today is the happiest day for me and my best friend.

She's my number one enemy, but she's also the first person who'll engage in a fistfight to protect me. She's the love of my life, Son Chaeyoung.

I know she's nervous; I can see it on her face even if she's trying to hide it using her signature smile that shows her deep dimple. Actually, everyone is nervous since we spend four months preparing for this day. After countless food tasting, fight over the reception, testing different outfits, and even deciding on the color of the cake, I can say that we had a hard time — buckets of tears and sweat for this special day. But everything was worth it.

"Are you ready?" I turn my head to look at her.

"Of course, Chae." That's all I can say because I'm speechless while looking at her. I want to say that she looks fabulous with her black tuxedo and her pink necktie. Perfect with her blonde hair tied in a clean bun that makes her face the highlight of her whole appearance. But I can't formulate words to say it to her.

Chaeyoung smiles at me then I noticed she's holding the bracelet I gifted on her 12th birthday. I chuckled when I remember a good memory involving that bracelet.

Flashback

"Why did you punch your classmate?" Asked by auntie Ye-jin to Chaeyoung, who's kneeling on the ground. At the same time, me and uncle Hyun bin are sitting on the couch near them.

"I'm asking you, Son Chaeyoung because it's the 3rd for this month!" Auntie Ye-jin ruffles her hair out of frustration since Chaeyoung seems not to speak any minute.

I saw uncle Hyun Bin walking towards her wife to calm her a little; we've been staying in their living room for 45 minutes. Chaeyoung takes this chance to look at me and smiles with her dimple; she's trying to hide that she's terrified of her mom. I furrowed my eyebrows to her and mouthed, 'why.'

"Hon, let her stand up. She might have bruises on her knee. Remember you told me when she started walking that you want her to be a model. And bruises will crush your dreams, babe." I laugh internally at uncle's joke. Chaeyoung a model? Maybe a model for slippers or hand sanitizers since it will not be showing her face.

"Forget that dream besides she's too small and hard-headed for a model."

"Mom! I'm not small; I'm continuing to grow." We heard Chaeyoung whines.

"Oh, so hurting your pride is the only way for you to speak?!" Chaeyoung tense then closes her eyes when she heard a roar from auntie.

"Son Chaeyoung, my hair will turn white because of your stubbornness! You are a perfect copy of your father!"

"Huh, why am I involved? Chaeyoung, will you tell us what happened? Look at your mom's forehead; wrinkles are visible." Chaeyoung's playful personality came from uncle; there's no need to argue for that.

"What did you say?!" But before auntie's punch lands on uncle's shoulder, we heard Chaeyoung speaks.

"They are trying to get my bracelet." Then she breathes fast like a bull before speaking again.

"At first, I show them my bracelet, and I also tell them that Mina made it for me. Then everyone asking if they can have it. Of course, I said NO, but they are persistent in taking it away from me." I was stunned by what I heard because I didn't know that's the reason why she always picks a fight with her classmates.

"You should just give it to them; I can make you another one or even ten bracelets." I said to her with teary eyes since I'm guilty of what happened to her.

"Ani! This is mine, and all the bracelets you'll make are also mine!" Auntie Ye-jin was right; she's very hard-headed for a 12-year-old girl.

"Oooohhh possessive." Uncle mumbles with a teasing tone.

PAK!

"Honey, that hurts!"

"Of course it should because I intend to mark your face using my hands when I slapped you!" Auntie's attention averts to Chaeyoung when she hears giggles coming from her. Auntie signals her to stand up and she quickly embrace her daughter in a tight hug.

"It's not funny, Chaeyoung, but I'll let you slip today, but next time, tell it to your teacher when someone is messing with you. Are we clear with that?" Chaeyoung nods on Aunties tummy.

"Or just tell your classmates that Mina is your girlfriend, and they will stop bugging you." Uncle exclaimed, then winks to Chaeyoung that leave the both of us a blushing mess.

"SON HYUN BIN!!!!"

End of Flashback

"Hey, are you okay?" Chaeyoung's voice brings me back to reality.

"Ne, I just remembered something," I replied to her.

She's going to say something when we heard someone speak behind us.

"She's coming, be ready, Chaeyoung."

After an estimated 20 seconds, the wooden double door opens—Showing Somi wearing a pink gown,

she is Chaeyoung's bride.

Unlike everyone my attention is not on the bride walking in the aisle but on the bride beside me. Then it sinks to me that today is her wedding day; of course, she chooses me to be her best woman, and even if my whole being is saying I don't want to, I can't say no to her.

How I wish I were the person you're waiting on the altar, the person you'll exchange vows with, and the person you'll kiss in front of everyone.

That's all I can do, wish. Because at the end of the day I'm just your best friend.

Today is the happiest day for me and my best friend because her happiness is also my happiness.

And even if my heart is being crushed in a million pieces, today will still be our happiest day.
