I noticed the fourteen year old sitting outside, light brown hair falling on her shoulders. She was wearing a shirt and a pair of skinny jeans. "Hi." I said, "Wanna go for a walk?"

"Depends, are you going to take me into the woods and kill me or something?"

"No, I just want to be friends."

"Oh, okay. Sure." She walked inside, then came back outside. "Ready?"

"Yeah." I said,

We walked to a park nearby and sat down on the swings. "So... how long have you lived here?"

"About a month"

"Cool. I used to live in this neighborhood a few years ago."

"How'd you get here then?"

"I like to walk a lot, I actually live on the other side of Walmart, I just decided to go for a walk and noticed you sitting there alone." She seemed very reserved.

"Oh."

"So... tell me about yourself a bit. What do you like to do for fun?"

"Not a whole lot. I like to read."

"So do I. Have you read Harry Potter before?"

"No, everyone keeps telling me I need to, though."

"I can let you borrow mine."

"I don't know if I should borrow yours, my brother is the destroyer of all things and he might ruin them."

"Okay."

"But thank you for offering."

"Oh it's nothing."

"Oh, okay."

"I've read through them, it's a good book series."

"That's what I keep hearing."

"I should get going, I have school in the morning and I have a feeling you probably shouldn't be out walking when it's dark out." We started walking back to her house.

"I'm actually scared of the dark, so that works."

"Really?"

"Yeah. What school do you go to?"

I actually go to Lafayette, even though I live in Central district."

"We should hang out sometime at school."

"You go there too?"

"Yeah."

"What lunch do you have on white days?"

"First."

"What Lunch do you have on green days?"

"First."

"No way."

"Yeah."

"So do I."

"Which one."

"I have first lunch both days, too."

"Really?"

"We should have lunch tomorrow."

"What's your name?" She asked,

"Eli, What's yours?"

"Mia." She said.

"That's a nice name."

"Thanks."

"I'll see you tomorrow, Mia."

"See you tomorrow, Eli." She said, in a joking tone. I watched her walk inside and went home.
