Cyanns POV

I brush through my hair one more time. It's time for my daily visit to my mom. It's sad to say, but she's getting worse. I hear the honk outside and know Riley was finally here. She finally got back from her trip to Florida, and wanted to see my mom, knowing she was like her second mom, I knew this trip to the hospital would be emotional. Once I got in the car, she sped off. She tried to start a conversation, but I was not paying much attention. We got to the hospital in a matter of minutes, and I got out of the car before she even had a chance to park. I waited for her in the lobby, knowing she'd get lost if she didn't have me to show her the way. I saw Riley walk through the door in just a matter of minutes. I started to walk to her room number, knowing she was in close pursuit of me. Room 116, our destination, that I found shortly. I told Riley to stay outside, so that I could talk to her shortly, and she nodded. I knocked on the door, so that I could hear the weak voice call 'come in'. Moments passed before I heard her. I walked in swiftly, needing desperately to see her again. When I walked in, she smiled weakly, and it was physically impossible to return it. She was getting worse, her face paler than it was yesterday, she was skinnier than ever before, and her voice barely came out as a whisper. She was dying, but this was inevitable. The thought made a few tears run down my cheek. I couldn't stand seeing her like this, but I had to stay strong for her, like she had for me on multiple occasions. I sat next to her, and her frail fingers reached to my face to wipe away the tears.

"Don't cry baby, I'll be okay," she said, weakly.

I knew she was lying, which hurt even more. The fact that she knew she could die at any moment, terrified me. My mom and I have had moments where we didn't see eye to eye, but I still love her.

"I have a surprise for you Cy," she smiled.

"What is it mom?" I replied gently.

She reached behind her pillow and grabbed 2 tickets. She handed them to me, while giving me the same week smile.  I looked at the tickets. Two tickets for none other than Magcon Pittsburgh. This was a dream come true, but I couldn't go. Not with my mom on a hospital bed battling for her life. It wasn't fair, none of this was. She was going to die, tomorrow for all I know, and I was going to spend as much time with her as possible. She looked at me with confusion.

"You are going," She stated as firmly as possible. I shook my head.

"What if you are gone when I get back?" I question, my voice barely above a whisper.

"What happens, happens for a reason, but you have been begging to go for years now, if I am here or gone when you get back isn't the subject at hand." she replies.

I simply shake my head, and look down at my phone. 4:40, Visiting hours close in 20 minutes, and Riley still hasn't seen her. I tell my mom I will see her tomorrow, and exit. I let Riley know she can talk to her now, and she practically runs to the door.

In a matter of moments, the intercom tells us that Visiting Hours are over. The entire ride back I ponder over the idea of going to the event.
