Mei POV
I am just relaxing by the west fountain, laying on a bench. The sun is warm and relaxing on me. The cherry blossoms are blooming. The birds are chirping, and the water fountain is flowing. It's just so relaxing. I feel completely at peace. Suddenly, I hear a creepy giggle. I am jolted from my once relaxed mood, and am now alarmed. "What was that?" I think to myself. It's probably nothing, but I don't let my guard down. I am looking left amd right constantly, on-edge. I hear footsteps coming down the stone path next to me, and a red-haired girl comes into view. I wave, but she just looks at me like I have the plague or something, and just walks off. To be honest, she looked interesting. I decide to run in the direction she went, and soon enough I catch up, "Hey!" I shout out, hoping to get her attention. The girl stops, sighs, and turns to face me. "What do you want?" she said, in a rude tone. I smile and wave at her "Oh, nothing. You just looked nice. What's your name?" I ask, looking her in the eyes. "Are you serious?" the girl says in a bit of a surprised tone, but still sounding a bit rude. "Of course! I'm always happy to make new friends!" I say in an excited way. The woman extends her hand. "Yui Riyosawa. Just Yui Rio for short, though." I grab her hand, excited to make a new friend. "Mei Miyaso! Mei Mio for short." The girl appears to let out a slight smile for a split second. We part hands, and head our separate ways. "I can't wait to get to know her better, and hang out!" I think to myself, smiling. Suddenly the class bell rings, sk i head to my class. But something happens on the way. CRASH! I accidentally bumped into someone! Oh no! "Ah sorry.. I'm such a klutz. Are you oka-" I freeze as I realize it's Yui. "Ah shit! I'm sorry Yui." The girl looks up at me, clutching her forehead. "It's okay.. I'll be fine. I think." she says, sounding pained. "No! We're getting you to the nurse." I offer a hand to help her up. She sighs but lets me help her up. I bend down and pick up everything she dropped. "Here. Let's go see the nurse." Yui takes her stuff, and we walk to the nurse's office. "Hey, is everything alright?" the nurse says, gently. "Ah, so I bumped into my friend and her head hurts.. Can you give her some ice?" The nurse gives a big smile, "Of course! Just gimme a second. Take her to the bed for me please." The nurse leaves to get ice, and I say Yui down on the bed. I lean over to feel the bump.
Yui POV
I open my eyes, and am treated with a pleasant surprise. That Mio girl is leaning over.. and I can see down her shirt. I would turn away, but she's surprisingly strong for a nerd, and I can't move my head.. But this is so weird, I thought i liked guys! Im just left there blushing. Mei pulls away and I immediately hide my flushed red face. "Ah! I'm sorry! Did i hurt you? Are you okay?" Mei practically shouts, worried. "I'm fine.. Calm down." I assure her. "Then why are you.." We're interrupted by the nurse coming in with the ice, and Mei is allowed to leave. I have to say, it's boring when nobody except the nurse is there. I take a shooort nap.
LUNCHTIME
I'm awoken to the feeling of someone trying to wake me up. It's a gentle shake, so I assume it's the nurse. "5 more minutes.." I say, annoyed. "Yuii come on!" I hear Mei's voice, "If we're friends, we have to eat lunch together! I'll grab your bag for you if you dont want to get up.." I pull the sheet off. "Fine, fine. Where shall we eat?" I ask her. "Well.. How about in the plaza? It's beautiful there." She says, getting a look of happiness in her eyes. I agree and we head off to the plaza. Mei takes out her bento box, and I do mine. "Woahh Yui! That looks so good. You must have the best parents!" She says in awe. "Haha thanks.. I prepared it myself." Mei looks at me, starstruck. "Yui.. You have to show me how." She says, an interesting tone in her voice. I think about it. Mei doesn't seem like much of a threat. Doesn't even know who i am. "Sure." I say, reluctantly." The two of us eat, talking about interests and whatnot. Time passes quickly, and we both head off.
AFTER SCHOOL
Cleaning time is over fast, and I wait for Mei outside the school entrance. I can see her coming my way, and I give a little wave. She waves back, and the two of us head back to my house.
