SON CHAEYOUNG'S POINT OF VIEW

I turn off the tv and followed what the woman on the video said. While walking on the stairs, I noticed pictures all over the wall. From afar, it's like ordinary pictures on frames, but when I look closer, I saw under every picture a handwritten caption and the exact day it happened.

April 23, 2017
Today was your 25th birthday, yesterday we planned to have a picnic at the park, but the weather is not favoring us. So we end up having an indoor picnic in our living room. But we didn't finish all the food we prepared because you decide to eat me instead. Since it's your birthday, I don't have the will to say NO to you.
*I love you, Chaeyoung, I always do, remember that.

I choked at the middle part of the caption then proceed to the following picture.

Today you asked me to change my surname to a Son. There are no fancy dinner or thousand flowers. It's just our typical day when we are cuddling on our couch when I found a ring on my hand that was resting on your tummy. Then that's the time I realized you slip the ring without me noticing it. Not the best way to propose, haha, but I'll definitely spend the rest of my life with you.
*I love you, Chaeyoung, I always do, remember that.

I glanced at my ring finger, and I saw a ring precisely the same as Mina's except for its silver color and not rose gold like hers.

The following picture that captures my attention almost made me cry again for the second time of this day.

October 20, 2020
Today I gave birth to our beautiful twins, Son Heejin and Son Jinsoul. And this is one of the funniest and happiest days of our lives. You woke up after you heard me screaming in pain, and you literally have no idea of who I am, but you still bring me to the hospital wearing your tiger print boxers. I don't have time to explain, like I always do everyday, so you are clueless about everything that's happening. But our friends told me that you shed a tear when you saw our twins on their glass box beside me. I'm sorry if I didn't witness since I was too tired because of long hours of laboring. But when I open my eyes, I saw you holding our twins while humming a song to them. Everything was worth it by seeing the three of you.
*I love you, Chaeyoung, I always do, remember that.

"Love, let's eat; it's almost 9:00 AM." I look for the source of the voice, and it was Mina wearing a penguin and tiger apron. I walk fast to her and embrace her with a tight hug.

"I love you so much, Mina; I will never forget that." She didn't answer; instead, she holds my face to kiss me; this time, I kissed her back. But our kiss was distracted by the quarreling sound of two creatures inside the kitchen.

Mina guides me to our kitchen to be greeted by the most beautiful sight that I will never get tired of waking up with.

"Mama!" The twins shouted in unison.

I walk to them, and they are stretching their arms; it's like they want me to carry them. I proceed to lift the first baby then I heard the other one spitting unknown words. Maybe she's jealous because I'm holding her twin sister. So I lift her using my other arm. After settling to me, they attack me with kisses; I'm not surprised because their other mother is the first one who've done that earlier. And when I look in my front, I saw Mina taking pictures of us. I smiled at her and mouthed, 'Thank you' and 'I love you.'

We just tucked the twins on their beds. I didn't know that my daughters are like balls of energy. We play, eat, play, eat, then play again until they run out of batteries. Mina and I are now lying on our bed without space between our bodies. She said that this is really my hobby, squishing her body.

"So we met at the restaurant?" She told me earlier all the essential things I should remember, but I want to hear it again.

"Yeah, just like what I said, I'm having a meeting with investors on that restaurant when you spill a drink on my white coat." Today I found out that Mina is the CEO of her father's company. But she decided to pass her title to her brother when she chooses to pursue me. She's now working at home as their company's finance manager.

"Do you really love me that much?" I forgot to count how many times I teased her on how much she's whipped on me.

"Chaeyoung, you are my life." She looks into my eyes before speaking again.

"And I will never be worn out waking up to a clueless Chaeyoung. I will never get tired of reminding everything that happened to our lives. I will never exchange all our one-day memories together for anything easier than the situation we are currently in because Chaeyoung, you're my home, and even if you always forgot to open the door for me. I will always find a way to go home to you. I love you, Chaeyoung, I always do, remember that." I kissed her forehead and brought her body closer to mine.

"Good night Mina."

"Good night Chaeyoung, see you tomorrow."

Then the warm feeling I'm exeperiencing the whole day intensifies. This woman is my everything.

"I love you so much, Mina; I will never forget that."
