Part 19

Ever since my dad died, my mom has been alone, but she had me. Her kissing another guy that's not my dad felt weird. I was mad. I know it had been years since my dads death but had she move on from my dad? Was that guy better than my dad? Does my mom still love my dad?

I stared at them in shock, I couldn't move or speak, I couldn't hear anything around me, everything started to get blurry. I think I blacked out. I woke up in my room, paddy holding my right hand and my mom holding my left.

"Honey" my mom said as she looked up at me.
"Hey how do you feel" paddy said.
I remembered what happened before I blacked out.
"Fine.. can I be alone please" I managed to blurt out not being able to look at my moms direction.
"Honey we need to talk" she said.
"Talk? What about? Oh maybe about you kissing some random guy, do you not care about dad anymore?" I said in an angry tone.
"What! Of course I do, why would you say such a thing?! I love your dad but he is gone, he would have wanted me to be happy" she yelled.
"You can try and replace dad, but he is not replaceable" I said.
"I-" she managed to get out of her mouth,but then tears came in and she left my room.
"Your mom deserves to be happy, she loves your dad but it's okay to love someone new" paddy said.
"You don't understand, you have a happy life, you have your dad and your mom together" I said.
"Right..." he said.
I sighed " thank you"
"For what"
"For trying, but I'm not giving my mom my blessing" I said. " also you were right about something, you and me are better off as friends"
"What?" He said.
"I said you were right!" I said.
"Y-Yeah I know heh" he chuckled nervously.
"Great! I'm happy we can put the past behind us and we can become great friends!"
"Yeah.. ahem..anyways I have to go" he said as he cleared his throat.
"Okay see ya later" I said.
Paddy left and hours go by and I was still in my room until I got hungry..I remembered I haven't ate at all today. I went downstairs. I saw my mom.
"Mom.."
"H-Honey" she said as she wiped her tears.
"I-I just came for a snack" i said.
"Mhm.."
I gave in.
I sighed " mom who is that guy" I asked.
"His name is Henry, I met him a few months ago and we started dating recently" she said.
"And You never mentioned it? Wait..was the whole 'I'm going to make you breakfast' thing just apart of a plan to get me to meet him?!" I said furiously.
"Yes b-but-" I cut her off.
"Wow mom..just wow, I can't believe I even considered- you know what I'm spending the night At paddy's tonight" I said and I was about to storm off until my mom grabbed my arm.
"No! You don't get to talk to me that way! I love your father and I always will! We need to move on..and I think Henry is going to help us, you and me! We are having dinner tonight and you are going to be a respectful young lady, you are not to be rude, and if you say something disrespectful I will ground you until you have kids!" My mom yelled.
I never really heard her yell like that since I was 5 and I stole a pack of gum from the convenient store back in America, my dad saved my butt from getting whooped. I miss him.
I was a bit scared. "Y-Yes ma'm" I managed to get out.
"Okay now get dressed appropriately" she said.
"Okay.." I went to my bedroom.
I was terrified..no not even..I was petrified! What if my moms boyfriend was an actual good guy, then I won't have any reason to dislike him. No no, he's probably an asshole looking to get in my moms pants. Whatever I have to get ready.
