Y/N sat on the couch, he was too lazy to go to upstairs to his room. It was Saturday evening since he worked overtime, but he did ask Solido if he wanted to do something this weekend. So he picked up his phone to call Solido.
Ring Ring Ring
"What's up?" Solido said. "You wanna try going to the beach again?" Y/N offered. "We can go right now." Y/N thought about it for a minute. I know I offered but I meant tomorrow. It'll be night by then, it could be dangerous.
"Sure" Y/N said. "Cool, I'll be there soon." Solido said hanging up, packing and going to Y/N's house. Y/N was slightly panicked he didn't want to go at night, he hated the dark. Why the Hell did I agree to this, but its kinda too late. Y/N quickly packed and patiently waited for Solido.
Knock Knock
Y/N opened the door greeting Solido. "Hey, you ready?" Y/N said. "Yeah, if you're ready lets go." "Fuck it, Y/N whispered to himself. Lets go then." Y/N said closing the door behind him leading the way.
The whole way there Y/N had his guard up. Smallest noise or slight difference in light made him glance and analyze. The whole walk there was just anxiety on the go. He didn't tell Solido, but Solido noticed his odd behavior.
When they got there, like Y/N had said, well what he didn't say. It was getting dark. There was still light, but dark enough. They walked towards the ocean, Y/N walking ahead. "Be careful, Y/N Go in too deep, and you could just get sucked in." Solido said. "That's what she said." Y/N said with a giggle. "What" Solido walked beside him now. "Nothing." Y/N said looking ahead towards the horizon.
Y/N didn't think Solido was that innocent. He was curious on how much he knew. Maybe I could teach him. What the Hell were you just thinking. They took off there shoes and stood near the shore. Y/N still had his guard up. Solido saw how still and serious Y/N was.
"C'mon we came to have fun!" Solido said grabbing Y/N's hand. Y/N was glad it was getting dark, Solido couldn't tell how flustered he was. "W-wait." Y/N said but decided against it, he pushed his fear down.
They reached the water and Solido stopped, he started lightly splashing the water with his feet. Y/N just stood there trying to relax into the warmth. After a couple of minutes, Solido let go of his hands. Y/N wanted to hold his hand longer, and not just that he wanted to hold him, even steal a kiss from him.
A strong sea breeze blew making Solido shiver. Y/N gave Solido his hoodie, he wasn't wearing it anyway. "Here." Y/N said. Solido grabbed the hoodie. "Thank you Y/N" Solido put it on and continued to splash in the water.
They continued to play in the water, like they were little kids. It was finally dark when they decided to head back to Y/N's house. Solido sat down at the table while Y/N made some tea. "I'll wash your hoodie before giving it back." Solido said looking at the steam rising from the cup of tea Y/N had set in front of him. "It's fine, you don't have to." Y/N didn't want to trouble Solido.
They finished their tea, so they both went upstairs. They were both sitting on the bed across from each other. "Y/N, this might be a little personal, but what after I asked if you still didn't like physical touch you said you hadn't hugged anyone you're entire life." Y/N didn't want go talk about it but after he let that slip, Solido asking him about it was inevitable.
Y/N told Solido about his parents, the debt, and his childhood.
Solido sat there listening. "That's why physical touch has never really been a thing with me." Y/N said finishing his life story. "I see." Solido said leaning forward pulling Y/N into a loving hug. "Solido..." Y/N said melting into his hug, he would have traded the world for this. Solido felt drops of something hit his wrist.Solido broke the hug, which made Y/N a little empty. "Y/N, why are you crying?" Y/N sat there not knowing that he had started crying. He quickly got up wiping the tears away "I'm not sure why." Y/N laughing. Solido didn't know what to do so he just sat down.
"What about you?" Y/N said fidgeting his fingers. "Huh." Solido said looking up at Y/N as if he had shattered his thoughts. "What about your childhood?" Y/N asked. "Mine wasn't that bad, it was actually pretty okay. You could even call it normal. It was just my father and me. I never really wanted to make friends. I was picked on but not heavily bullied." Solido explained. Y/N was thinking what his childhood would have been like if things were a little bit different.
"Y/N, I think we should go to bed."Solido said laying down. "We probably should." Y/N turned off the light and was going to leave. "Y/N come here." Solido said patting one side of the bed. Y/N kept his cool and laid down as far as he could wanting to give Solido room. "You can relax you know." Solido said. "What, are you making fun of me?" Y/N responded back slightly annoyed. "No actually I admire that you care so much." Solido said jokingly.
"Ha ha, very funny." Y/N said sarcastically. "I'm not a comedian but I try." Solido said. Well, that was stupid. They both thought to themselves. They both fell asleep, backs to each other.
Y/N woke up later that night. He went downstairs to get a glass of water, but he saw the dining room light on. He stepped in and saw his mom with a cup of hot coffee. "Hey mom" Y/N stepped over to hug her. "Y/N, things are finally starting to get better aren't they?" Estella said. "What do you mean?" Y/N said. "Well, the debt is starting to become solved and I asked for a couple of days off to spend what little time I can with you and rest." She laughed softly clearly exhausted.
Y/N sat down in silence looking down. They both sat in that quiet room for at least half an hour, until his mom spoke. "So, who's your...friend?" Estella asked humorously. "What do you mean?" Y/N forced a smile not sure if she was mad or not. "I'm not mad. I can't be I was never really here to discipline you, I was just curious." Estella said sipping the last of her coffee.
"Solido, he's my friend. We're the same age. He lives with his father. I met him on the way home from school. I remember that I bought him a strawberry soda. We've been hanging out for several months. We went to the beach last night. We were gonna do something tomorrow. I always walk him home since the first time I met him he had just gotten mugged. He's really smart just naive." Y/N said thinking about Solido smiling to himself.
Estella stifled a giggle. That pulled Y/N out of his thoughts. "What!?" Y/N said defensively. "Nothing!" She said laughing. "What is it?" Y/N said. "To me it just sounds like you've been going on dates and protecting him sounds like you really do care about that boy." She continued laughing. Y/N shrunk in his chair embarrassed. "Don't say things like that out of nowhere." Y/N said.
"So do you like him?" She got up opening a bottle of water. "I don't know. Maybe" Y/N said quietly. "I love you, but that's none of my business. If you did like him it wouldn't matter to me." Estella said drinking her water. He sat there thinking. Do I like Solido...
"Anyway, I'm going to bed, I'll be here the entire week. Good night." Estella left to her room leaving Y/N trying to collect his scattered thoughts.
Y/N went back upstairs, Solido sleeping. Do I like him? He laid back down looking at him. He smiled, he felt happy. He closed his eyes, falling back asleep.
Y/N thought if he did like him, but more importantly if Solido liked him. What if he didn't? And if they did would it even work out? Y/N somehow fell asleep with all these questions screaming at him for an answer.
He had Solido by his side, and his mom was home. He doesn't even know what she meant by "better" but if it made her life easier he didn't care.
