The Sitting corpses

Chapter 1

A tall Victorian mansion stood in front of me. I was going to get my next kill here with my partner, Felix. Felix Jackson, We've know each other for years and he's been my best friend since I was little

"Your mom told you to head home before this assignment," Felix reminded me.

I ignored him and started walking towards the house. He sighed and pushed his black hair back.

"Just one more mission, just one more."

"Kali, I know you want to get this mission done already but please listen."

"Felix no, I'll just do this, he doesn't have much security and he isn't that well known. It should be a breeze, I'll be fine." I responded as I was welcomed by a butler.

"Welcome Miss Garcia and Mister Jackson, the Halls will be very pleased that you two arrived."

The Halls were a power hungry family. A mother and father with two sons. They have been neutral until now and now we have to kill the father, William Hall. They had one of our members killed and tried to kill me too, now we serve justice for them.

Me and Felix walked into the party they were holding in the mansion. Heads turned, they knew what we were here for and knew better than to get in our way.

Felix and I searched for a bit and then spotted him heading to his room with a woman. She was definitely not his wife, tragic. "Whore." I whispered under my breath. We followed him to the door and I revealed the holster holding the gun under my black suit, which I was matching with Felix. I then kicked the door in to William doing some non family friendly things with his special friend. "Damn, a cheater and traitor, you're just the gift that keeps on giving aren't you?"

"What are you doing here?!" he exclaims trying to have the last bit of decency he has left.

"Well as the saying goes, karma's a bitch." I said calmly while raising my gun to aim. The woman saw the gun and immediately scurried while mumbling "This isn't worth it, I'm out."

Before I could pull the trigger, the disgrace of a man in front of me smirked unexpectedly pulled out a cube that looked like some sort of trigger "I knew what was going to happen after I killed your pathetic little partner, you were going to come after me for your revenge but I can finally finish my plan." I slowly put it together and realized what he was planning "FELIX RUN!"

He realized what was happening too and grabbed my arm. In one move he threw me backwards and ran to get the trigger out of William's hand but it was too late. The explosion was huge and I could feel some of my skin searing off, I couldn't see anything, and all I heard were screams and cries then nothing.
