*Rafe's POV*

I woke up refreshed, and excited abut today. Last night had been... interesting. Lanie had impressed me in every way. The dress she wore was beautiful and appropriate, but still showed some of her body.

After dinner, during which I had unashamedly stared at her, seeing her cry because she didn't want to marry me left me feeling... uncomfortable. I wouldn't go as far as to say I was hurt but I didn't like the sensation it gave me.

I didn't expect that. A lot of women would love to be married to me, but she didn't seem to follow the family, evidenced by her lack of knowledge of who everyone was.

I knew Jason had made the right decision when I saw how she pulled herself together and made her requests known. I haven't met many women like that, that would talk back to me but it was quite refreshing.

It is now time for breakfast, but I'm purposely running late just to see how she will react. I walk into our less formal dining room and see her, my 3 sisters and my brother, and everyone's significant others. "Morning everyone," A chorus of greetings followed, and I took my seat across from my now fiancee. The ring looks good on her, but  I was surprised to see her wearing it and told her as much, "Well I have to get used to wearing it, so people don't ask questions right?"

"I'm glad you liked it, where are my parents by the way?"

Evie spoke up, "They said they were tired out from yesterday, and had breakfast brought up,"

Lanie looked stricken,"Oh I hope it wasn't my fault, please send my sincere apologies to them,"

Mark who was sitting on her other side whispered in her ear, what all the siblings were thinking and she blushed profusely. Turns out she's more innocent than I thought.

 *Lanie's POV*

I knew exactly when the prince came in, but pretended not to notice. I just don't care enough today. I wore the ring he gave me, because I liked it, all things considered it was still was a pretty nice ring.

I will not repeat what Mark whispered in my ear, but I'm glad that George and Emily didn't stay in because of me, but for other... activities.

After breakfast we were all talking, and I was having a lot of fun. Then the prince cleared his voice, "The servants are ready to meet you in the sitting room Lanie,"

"Ok, lets go," For the next hour, I met all of the house and grounds workers. Mr and Mrs. Pringle headed the grounds and house departments respectively. They seemed to be really nice people.

Then I came to a man, who worked on the far reaches of the royal estate, and was basically the odd jobs/handyman person. When I shook his hand and tried to pull away, he slowly bent over and kissed the top of my hand keeping eye contact with me. I quickly pulled my hand away, and he gave me the creepiest smile I have ever seen. His name was Richard Perkins I believe.

After meeting everyone Liz, Teresha and Evie took me on a tour of the palace. The place was huge, it was bigger than most if not all of the buildings at Harvard, I really shouldn't be surprised, it was a palace after all.

I learned all the girls' rooms were on the second floor like mine, and all the guys were on the 3rd floor. I'm now getting ready to go shopping with the rest of the girls. We need to find a dress for the engagement interview.
