Depression is your anxious mind keeping your body awake, robbing you of rest.
Depression is staying in bed because you lack the energy and the motivation to get up.
Depression is staying in bed but not resting because your mind is berating you for not getting up.
Depression is full sinks and piling laundry. It is needing the tranquility of a clean room and lacking the mental energy it takes to make a bed, let alone sweep.
Depression is isolating. You stop answering texts, you ignore calls, all interactions feel heavy so you trade socialising and instead scroll mindlessly through social networks sad to see friends get on with life but also aware that you cannot make yourself participate because when invited you cancel, make excuses......
