When Pallavi got a call from an unknown number, her first reaction was to ignore it. But when they kept repeatedly calling, she picked it up in annoyance. Her look of annoyance, however, changed into fear the moment she hung up the call.

"A price for his life," the man on the phone said.

The man hadn't specified who's life was at stake but the only name that popped up in Pallavi's mind was Raghav. She couldn't lose him and was willing to give any amount. But the man on the other end hadn't stated what the price was. Instead he wanted her to visit him—alone, without informing anyone. The man had given her a time and she had one hour till she had to reach the location he texted her.

Of course, being the wife of a don, Pallavi knew Raghav had many enemies and she couldn't enter the lion's den without doing her own research. She quickly called Farhad and asked if Raghav was with him.

"Nahi, Bhabhi... Abhi tak Anna ghar nahi pauncha? Do ghante pehle woh office se nikal gaya tha," Farhad said, worried.

"Toh... Farhad, ek second, okay? Mein abhi Raghav ko call karti hoon. Shayad woh traffic mein stuck hai ya kisi business event mein hai? Kya agenda mein kuch likha tha?" Pallavi asked.

"Nahi, Bhabhi. Aaj Anna ne fatafat sab kaam nipt liya tha, thaki woh aaj thoda jaldi ghar jaa sake. Kuch problem hai, Bhabhi?"

Recalling the words of the caller made Pallavi shiver and stumble over her next words.

"Agar tumne kisi ko bataya ki maine call kiya toh tumhare liye acha nahi hoga, Bhabhiji," the man had said, taunting her as he addressed her as "sister-in-law."

"Bhabhi?" Farhad echoed on the receiving end.

"Haan...haan! Farhad, um, kya tum mujhe ek lift de sakte ho? Woh mujhe gaadi chalana nahi aati aur mujhe kahin jana hai," she lied, hoping Farhad would pick up on the fishiness of the situation. She couldn't risk Raghav being harmed if the man had somehow managed to tap her phone or was watching her at this moment. She glanced out the windows of the house, trying to see if there was anyone outside but the dimness of the evening sky made it ten times harder.

"Lekin, Bhabhi, driver—" Farhad started to say but Pallavi interrupted him.

"Driver chutti par hai! Please, Farhad, emergency hai," she said, trying to get him to understand.

"Acha theek hai. Mein thees minute mein aunga," he said and Pallavi thanked him before cutting the call.

Soon after, she tried calling Raghav's phone but it went directly to voicemail like she expected. She tried texting him and her texts failed to deliver.
