1. Introduce/describe yourself…
- People usually calls me ‘Tadzy’ or ‘Ruffa’. Not much to describe myself but I am kind, simple, happy-go-lucky, and friendly. But my attitude depends on who I was dealing with. Not to mention the first impressions, but I was being told ‘intimidating’, ‘rude-looking’, and ‘sophisticated’. Well, by the looks, maybe? I am someone’s mirror that how you look upon me is my reflection on how I looked at you too.
2. When did you start writing?
- Writing and reading wasn’t my forte before. But since, I read ‘Fifty Shades Trilogy’ last 2013, I was into reading then time flew and decided writing last September of 2013.
3. Nakakapagod pala mag-English. Kaya… saang tadyang mo hinugot ang penname mo? Ano ang problema mo?
- Hmmm, my pen name was derived from a native language which means ‘Makulit’ in tagalog. ‘Freakme’, sadyang may pagka-baliw talaga ako minsan and makulit kaya naging ‘Freakmetadzy’.
4. Ano ang naramdaman mo noong kinontak ka ng LIB o noong nalaman mong na-approve ang story mo? Alam kong masaya, pero ano ang kuwento?
- Actually, I was delighted to be contacted by LIB a Publisher from Philippines. Well, my trilogy story wasn’t supposed to be published in the Philippines ‘cause mostly, I submitted my manuscript from the US publishing companies. The reason behind was because, I knew it won’t be patronized by Filipinos because the massive readers of novels from Philippines were ‘Tagalog-English’ types of readers. Fortunately, it was approved by four publishing companies from foreign countries. So I wanted to thoroughly think of choosing the best publishing company from US and a friend of mine, told me to engage myself in ‘BOOKLAT’ site to meet Filipino writers. To my surprise upon becoming a member of the website for Filipino reader-writer, a wattpad-like site; a month or two, someone messaged me through the site-booklat, saying my story was ‘UNDER EVALUATION.’ I just ignored the message ‘cause I thought it was a scam. Then few months passed, still undecided, I got a message again, saying my story was approved to be published by Life Is Beautiful Publishing Corp. So I grabbed the opportunity of choosing the Publishing Company from LIB because US is too far and intimidating as well. I may be afraid of the over-pressures that those foreign publishers or editors might come in my way or too demanding and the requirements were too many to mention and expensive to accomplish.
5. Sino ang nagtulak, nanadyak, bumugaw sa 'yo na magsulat? Sino ang mga inspirasyon mo sa pagsusulat?
- Writing wasn’t really my forte before and so with reading too. I thought it was a boring hobby yet later did I know, it was fun, awesome, and interesting. My friends kept talking about ‘Fifty Shades Trilogy’, so out of my poking curiosity, I read it and loved reading. I read about 800+ English novels and some of those stories, I was a bit disappointed about the endings though it was great stories. So, I came up into a story and my cousin, Shaliha supported me with it and boom! My writing career started and the rest is history.
- Inspiration? It’s not who but a ‘WHAT’ for me. Maybe, my frustrations, daily experiences, cravings, failures, and success became my inspiration. Lol. Embarassing though, but yeah.
