Violet's POV

I got out of the perfect dress, being careful not to rip it. After hanging it up on its hook, I couldn't help but stare at it in awe. It really was amazing. I put on my regular clothes before opening the door. Seth stood up from his chair. "You ready?" He asked me, while wrapping his arm around my waist. I nodded my head.

We walked up to the front of the store. A kind old lady was behind the counter. "Did you find what you were looking for, dear?" She asked nicely. "Yes, thank you, ma'am." I smiled at her while putting the dress down on the counter. "This is really pretty. Your boyfriend's very lucky." I blushed and Seth snickered. "I know I am." He said smugly. I slugged him in the stomach, but that just made him laugh harder. "Your total is $75.00." She replied. "Would you like to pay with cash or credit? "Cash." I said, while at the same time Seth said "credit."I looked at him confused. "Cash." I repeated. "Credit." He countered. "Seth, all I have on me is cash." "Well, it dosen't matter what you have on you because I'm buying." He said easily. Like I would be so willing. "Um, no you're not." I said, putting my hands on my hips and staring him down. "Yes, I am Violet." He had a determined look on his face. "Seth." "Violet." I knew that I wouldn't get my way if we continued to argue. So I did th only thing I could think of. I didn't have much experience with it though, and I didn't know if I could pull it off. But I had to try.

I took a deep breath, and moved closer to him. My face was only a couple inches from his. I widened my eyes and stared into his chocolate brown eyes. His eyes widened, and he shook his head, trying to clear it. This was my chance. It was now or never. I leaned in, touching my lips to his. After a few seconds, I pulled back. "Pretty please Seth?" I asked sweetly, batting my eyelashes furiously. He looked dazed but responded, "S-sure." "Thanks, honey." I replied, giving him a quick peck on the cheek before turning back to pay for the dress. The old lady winked at me and whispered under her breath, "he's got it bad for you." I laughed and picked up my dress.

I grabbed his hand and led him out of the store. Once we were out on the sidewalk I turned towards him. "Now where's this amazing restaurant you told me about earlier?" He looked at me shocked. He didn't answer my question, instead asking one of his own. "How did you do that?" "Do what?" I asked innocently. "I don't know. It was like we were arguing about who was going to pay and then all of a sudden, you just.....won." He looked really confused. I gave him a hug before whispering into his ear, "It's my secret weapon. You'll just have to figure it out yourself." I giggled and was about to pull back, but he grabbed the back of my arms and held me towards him. "You don't play fair, you know that?" His voice was husky. "I never said I did." I laughed and he let me go. "So where is this restaurant?" I asked him. "This way." He said, pointing down the street.

We walked for  a couple minutes hand in hand before arriving at the restaurant. It was a small Italian diner. I couldn't pronounce the name of it, but when Seth said it to me it sounded really beautiful. We walked inside and were quickly seated. I couldn't read half of the stuff on the menu, and had to ask Seth what the different items were. Apparently, he speaks fluent Italian.

After we had ordered our food, Seth pulled something out of his jacket pocket. I couldn't tell what it was because he was hiding it under the table. He looked me straight in the eyes. "Violet. I know we haven't been going out for very long." He looked kind of nervous. "Actually, it's officially our one day anniversary." I laughed and so did Seth. Then he was again serious. "Anyways, I know it hasn't been long, but you have made me so happy. I want to show you how much I care with this." He pulled his gift out from under the table and slid it towards me. I picked it up, touching the velvet with my fingertips. I was almost scared to open it. I hoped he hadn't spent too much money on me. I opened the box, and my heart froze. Inside the velvet box was the most beautiful necklace I'd ever seen. It looked like a diamond, but I was able to convince myself that Seth wouldn't buy me something so expensive so soon.

A tear escaped my eye, and I quickly wiped it away. Seth was in my booth in an instant. "What's wrong?" He asked me urgently. He sounded concerned. "Do you not like it?" There was disappointment in his voice. I was finally able to find my voice."No silly. I love it so much! You just gave me the best present I've ever gotten. And now I feel bad because I didn't get you anything." He didn't respond, instead hugging me tightly. His cologne smelled so good. His lips were suddenly at my ear, whispering, "You're the best gift I've ever gotten." I couldn't supress an "awwww." I kissed him, reveling in the moment.

When we pulled back, I asked him if he could put it on. He was only too eager to oblige. He held up my hair and clasped the necklace on. Its presence on my neck was comforting; it was a promise between Seth and me that we would always love each other. Seth moved back to his booth and soon our food arrived. It smelled delicious. Just as I was about to take the first bite, a shadow fell over Seth and me. I looked up to see a guy our age staring at me, smiling.
