NILJA

class was over and lana was no where to be found, I wonder what was her prollem. she been acting weird all day but I couldn't pin exactly what it was. I decided it was best to ignore it and keep on with my day. I walked to my locker an gathered my stuff together preparing to leave when a girl came up to me.

"you Nilja...?" she asked confused.

I kept quiet for a second and poked my head from behind the locker to look at her. she was fine as fuck!  she moved her long wavy black and blonde hair from in front of her face revealing a pearly white smile with dark brown eyes. I broke the gaze by looking back into locker getting my things ready.

"I only came to you because the world history teacher told me you hoop.." she talked with less excitement than before.

"yeah but tryouts already closed" I closed my locker and faced her throwing my bag over my shoulder uninterested in the conversation. she looked me up and down slowly with her dark brown eyes then turned around and walked away. I raised my eyebrow up at her and frowned my face. just when I was about to turn around I felt someone tap my shoulder. it was mrs. whatever her name was cause I totally forgot.

"you get in my office now" she said with an unpleasant face. she walked off and I just rolled my eyes and followed. we walked into her office and I watched her take a seat at her desk. she nodded her head towards the seat and I reluctantly took the seat.

"I have a college that's interested in you academic wise." she said softly while clasping her hands together and sitting back in her chair.

"wouldn't they come through the counselor...?"

"typically they do but I personally reached out to this school." she handed a letter to me that she got from outta her desk. I grabbed it ad opened it.

dear Nilja Williams

im a friend of Mrs. knight and she put a word in that you'd love to attend UCLA as your new home. we have an amazing basket ball team that you would enjoy and academic help that would be able to help you out in the end run. the campus is something that you will see is very different and full of hard workers. we'd love if you come to visit campus and shadow our school for a day. it has everything that you'd dream of. your allowed bring a couple of people if your comfortable with it. till thenj see you November 4th.

I finished reading the letter and looked up to her smiling.

"I- how did you know I wanted to go here- scratch that when did you have the time to do this???" I looked at her with excitement

your teachers put in the news on how great your academics has been this year but your behavior was unusual. they wanted to do something to show you appreciation for your hard work. as for me knowing, I don't hate you I'm harder on you than most because you have to want the most for yourself. I got my tabs on you Ms. Williams. "

I got up from my chair and walked towards her desk shimmying my way over to give her ole Grinch lookin ass a hug. she crossed her arms at first trying to deny me a hug butt eventually gave in and hugged me back. I took the letter and prepared to make my way out of her office.

" don't let me down Williams" she said with a stern voice

"promise I wont knight" with that I walked out her office with the greatest news I had receive all day. I made my way out the doors spotting lana sitting on her car. once she spotted me she got off the car and stood up with her hands in her back pockets. i smiled hard and ran towards her and jumped on her falling into her arms. she laughed and looked up at me.

"so the principal i been at war with isn't really bad at all because she gave me a chance to visit my all time favorite dream college since i was a kid." i tolder all that in one breathe. she laughed and smiled at me.
