"Around this same time. Word of my warrior travels and deeds had spread. It was not long before my acts caught the attention of our creator Olofi. He summoned me to his court, informing me of a trial he wished for me to undertake to prove I was dedicated to protecting life. "There is a special task I wish to appoint you to Necromio. From its completion, you will become my elite guardian." His gaze left mine. To meet those of my mother's. An exchange I caught but had not understood... Then.

Olofi continued, "I wish to see your devotion before your succession. In two days. I will prepare a testing ground. You will battle for three days and three nights. At which time I will end the test rendering my decision. I will inform you only this, my son. Your truest strength comes from your devotion to something greater than yourself. Shining in the moment of your greatest weakness." With a nod of my head, "Yes, Old Man." I turned and left yet, Olofi 's words left me pondering their meaning.

My father, however, became ecstatic. Full of vanity was he. Feeling delighted that, yet again, he is being recognized. Seeking for me to attain that status, imaging himself basking in the fame. He would be known as the father of OLOFI 's elite guardian. This was all that mattered. Along with Eleggua, grand elder Asojano, Obatala, Yemaya, Oya & Ochum, he was in attendance to witness my mettle.

My mother, Oya, your Goddess, however, was not so concerned. For she saw a change in me. Mother understood why I had changed. Steeled conviction and fire to prove myself as a warrior had been replaced with something else. Something the Goddess Oshun herself confirmed. Something which germinated and was rooted within me. I had grown.

It was this power my mother observed spread within my being. And, because of it, she kept this from my egotistical father. Yet, remained silently proud of me.

It was two days prior, in the marketplace, I saw them. I stood with mother, previously engaging her in conversation until they appeared. Ano rode atop Sabalius. They had stopped at a fruit vendor's stand next to us, immediately clearing the area market of its remaining buyers who feared infirmities those two would plague them with sometimes. Carried by Ano's brother Abebe the wind. Something they reveled doing.

"Necromio." I had grown silent, withdrawing from my conversation with my mother, peripherally watching little Ano take his time dismounting Sabalius's back. It was at that moment mother revealed she knew my hidden secret. She stopped testing the fruit she was going to serve on the day of my test. When our gaze met. Mother's glanced from me towards the only two beings who had become my weakness. The only two beings I live for.

Having returned her gaze to me, mother's grin broadened. "Be happy, my son." Ever so daintily, mother bowed her head, grinning modestly. Then refocused on her task. But I, too, had returned to my task... Watching them, "Thank you, mother."

Astride Sabalius, this familiar sight served as a second reminder. Here stood the younger son and emissary of death herself. Little Ano with his death guardian Sabalius, the legendary necromancer wulf. Both a replicating force of death respected amongst our kind. Reputed wielding plagues, illness, and anguishing death to those foolish enough to anger them, including Celestials. Wishing to remain alive, most avoided this pair.

Yet in my eyes... They had become my life. The only two beings I would stop breathing for. They captured my heart. I was and since have belonged...... solely to them.

Using Sabalius as a walking aid, Ano picked fruit from the stand and held it up to Sabalius. "What do you think?" Sabalius shifted his tail once. Then disregarded it, retorting, "If that is what you desire, little one." I caught a mischievous glint appearing in Ano's glance to Sabalius.

Flicking towards the vendor, who himself became nervous, returning his sights to Sabalius. Sabalius, aware Ano targeted the fruit he held for some mischief, gently took the fruit in his mouth, placing it back in its basket.

Lowering his head, he shelters Ano bringing him under his neck embracing him. "You are so of full mischief today, little one."

His tail swishing, his gaze roved towards me. "Could it be because they will assess our new friend?"

Having worked for his way hand over hand back to Sabalius's shoulder who had lain for Ano to climb upon. Ano once astride Sabalius's back, once more chuckles, "You know me well, brother. Soo very well." I remember Sabalius turned directly to me, a glint in his gaze addressing Ano with pride. "He will fare well, Ano. Come, let us prepare for his visit this evening."

The night before, I was to take these 'tests.' We met in the garden, unlike in times past. The platinum -silver & black wulf, for the first time, addressed me soft-toned.

"You will do fine, warrior Necromio." His words incited a passion within becoming my fire. Looking towards him, I somehow felt elated to be in his presence and Ano's. Ano, who by now, Sabalius would allow to play with me. Tenderly rolling him between my forelegs, licking him. Hearing the middling's laughter of delight and contentment; soothed my soul.

"How are you so certain, Sabalius?" I asked while allowing mid-ling to grip my neck fur to stand up. Rising slowly to help him. Sabalius looked at me with a tenderness I will never forget nor wish to. "Because...... I believe in you." Ano, toying with my paws, just as caring, looks at me, "WE. WE believe in you Necromio." and kissed my muzzle.

As done in times past, With complete silence. Sabalius walked over and lowered his form before little Ano.

Offering his neck for his charge to climb onto. But on this day, I as well. Extended my neck for Ano to use as support to make his way across to Sabalius. Resting my head atop Sabalius's own.

It was at that moment, something claimed me. Something I would no longer deny. Sabalius's scent was invading my being. Releasing what our hearts truly felt. For the first time towards me. Sabalius's tail swayed gently, as did mine. My eyes softened; my throat released a new desire. I desired Sabalius...As my mate.

But I was not alone. For Sabalius's own eyes softened, and I heard him whine. Little Ano heard it also and chuckles. "I told you, Sabalius. What Oshun told me is never wrong. She is the African Goddess of love after all." Poking fun of Sabalius. Flustered, Sabalius quickly reprimanded Ano. "Hush, little one. Your tongue flutters unnecessarily." his tone stern.

Yet, from within, Sabalius's pelt came to a newly released scent intoxicating me. Enrapturing me, focusing my desire onto him only." Hearing our origins, Alejandro reveals the first mate bond scent created, "Night Blooming Jasmine. From the jasmine bush in the paradise garden where you previously hid. The scent Oshun created solely for your destined mate. Created for the first pair of DESTINED MATES. A specific pheromone so you would know your equal."

Having drawn my attention to him, I reflect the light which gazes towards me, love.
