~Chapter 1~

I breathed in the fresh air as I stepped out the gate of Justly Prep. Tomorrow was my 18th birthday and I was finally going back home to New York City. I haven't seen my father since last summer so I'm pretty exited to have birthday dinner with him tomorrow. "Kelly! A little help please," shouted my best friend Mindy. I quickly ran to her aid and helped her pick up one of her suitcases. "Can't wait to see Daddy tomorrow!" I said. " Yea I bet he's pretty exited to see u too," Mindy replied. I hand the luggage to our driver and he secures it in the trunk. He then rushes to open the door to the limo for us. I enter the limo and as I sit I straighten my white sun dress. "I just hope he's not too busy with his job this year..." , "Oh come on Kelly, you know that he doesn't mean to hurt your feelings when he has to work, he's just a busy man,". My father - John Truman- owns the multimillion medicine company Lap inc. His company makes everything from cough medicine to the cure for cancer. I actually heard that right now their working on cloning! So really he's so busy with his job sometimes that he doesn't even have the time to look at me in the face. I do know though that he cares about me and he worries about my wellbeing as well. I have this rare disease where sometimes I black out and when I wake up I don't know what happened so I get treatment three times a year and lately I've been taking my pills daily so it hasn't happened again in the past two years. Daddy sent me to this boarding school in Scotland where they take care of me very well, but honestly sometimes I feel like I'm under lock and key. But now everything is going to change, now that I'm finally an adult anything can happen, especially in NYC.
