Chapter 11- Part 4

Jake's P.O.V

"Did you hear that?" Seth murmurs from beside me before taking off into the bushes.

"Seth!" I call out, running after him. What did he even hear? I didn't hear anything. We are still in human form so if he heard something that is a threat we have to shift now. I see Seth in the distance and quickly catch up to him and he is standing still.

"What did you hear?" I ask. He points to somewhere ahead and I follow his gaze. What he sees and obviously heard freezes me solid.

"I heard her being thrown into that tree, they're fighting," Seth whispers, confused. I tell him to be quiet as I do not want us to be overheard. I hear Renesmee mutter something under her breath.

Jasper runs up to her and I hear her growl under her breath. What are they doing? Immediately after thinking the question I realise exactly what they are doing. She isn't fighting them seriously, they are preparing her for the Volturi, incase it turns ugly. I think Seth also has came to this conclusion as he is now staring at me.

"We have to help, Jake. We have to."

I shake my head. "They don't want our help, they won't allow us to help."

That is what I keep telling everyone. We aren't allowed to so we cannot help. That is a lie, I have never intended to just sit here and let them face the Volturi alone. But how can I help when I don't even know when the Volturi are coming?

"Jasper you have to be more careful!" I hear Rosalie say to Jasper. I turn back around to face where they are and I now see Rosalie standing beside Renesmee, blocking my view from her. "Are you OK?" Rose asks Nessie.

"I'm fine, we have to do it again. More training, practice, whatever you want to call it."

"I think you've had enough for a while. Your mum told me to watch out for you."

"I am fine," Nessie says.

"Renesmee. We have tomorrow morning to do this also. We sttill have plenty of time."

"Thrown into a tree and you're still moving? You're one tough kid." Emmett says as he reaches Jasper, Rose and Nessie.

Nessie laughs and I cannot help but smile. "Scared of competition, Emmett?"

"No." Rose says, looking at Emmett. "Call it off for tonight, it's dark and late. Don't want to wake any humans up, do this tomorrow morning."

"Rose, if you're worried, go inside with the others. I asked Jas and Emmett to do this because the rest of you wouldn't have. We have all night and all morning, and if you think I am going to waste even a second of it laying down and 'resting' you are crazy.

"Emmett, Jas, are we still doing this or what?" They all walk off out of view, still preparing and I lean back on a nearby tree.

"Jake, obviously this is about the Volturi, but what can we do?" Seth asks.

"Nothing, we can't do anything if we don't know when they are coming." Seth nods apologetically and we begin walking around the forest again, further away from the Cullen's property.

What Seth and the others don't know won't hurt them. I now know when the Volturi are coming, due to what I just heard Renesmee say. 'We have all night and all morning' . . . which means that is the only amount of time they have left. So obviously the Volturi are coming later in the day tomorrow. They won't know I will be coming now as Alice cannot see anything to do with me. But now that I have this information I will be there. I will protect Renesmee no matter what the cost is. Even if that means the Volturi take it out on me.
